			<![CDATA[ This one of the reasons I love science.<br /><br />I can't find the New Scientist article on -line so I'll quote a piece:<br /><br />Gergely Hegyat...and colleagues compared data on the prevalence of flu strains in different duck species with the anatomy of their reproductive parts."<br /><br />"The team found that the duck species with the shortest penises had the highest flu levels."<br /><br />I love the fact that somebody somewhere actually wondered about this and went out and di the research - which might actually turn out to tell us something about the evolution of sexual characteristics.<br /><br />Then too there's the team, that's spent years repeating basic measurements of stuff like the speed of light and the gravitational attraction between two masses to see if the random minor fluctuations between tests ever turns out to have some larger non-random pattern to it.<br /><br />They haven't found anything yet, they don't expect to find anything - but if they do it could be groundbreaking. ]]>
