A book you might like. Writer and photographer Sarah Sharp (better known to readers as Trixie Bedlam) travelled to all fifty states of the USA. And then made a book about it. Which you can preview here.

Let me be blunt: I love Sarah's work enough that I helped fund her trip through Kickstarter. So I'm a little biased. But please, go and have a flick through the book. And, if you feel like it, log in there and vote for her in the Blurb book contest.

Looks fantastic. Wish I could afford a copy right now. Maybe in December...

That's quite beautiful. My favorites are "Mel Gibson Swallows Cum", the one that is a chair in front of a wall of severely peeling paint, the row of primary colored canoes, and the stairs that appear to be covered with children's shoes and maybe framed photos. Hope people with money check it out...

Even with no money, you can still make an account there and vote for the book... just saying...

Warren, why don't you add daily instructions to your Starry Wisdom post? Or just have a post of "Things to do if you are feeling magnanimous and are surfing the internet." I was just thinking that people could be tweeting/FBing Emma Vieceli's comic, too.

    Working up to that, yes.

Ah, beaten by your omnipresence again, I see. :P

Sarah, if you're lurking around here, you take some really lovely pictures. I'm a bit of a sucker for interesting photography.

takes a bit of planning -- I usually write these at the pub, and it's getting too cold to accurately handle things like links with the Eee's cranky touchpad...!

And Sarah's up to 106 votes. What's it take to win?

She's about a hundred votes behind, I think.

Well, I know what I'm buying for Christmas and turning into a well thumbed- through and bookmarked addition to my ever growing library of books!

Warren always makes the best recommendations for cool shit. Now, I wonder what kind of high-powered alcohol he can recommend for Christmas and New Year's Eve...
