@viol8tor - I like the Great Rexa's turned-back claws: looks like they'd be more of a danger to Rexa than any attacker!

    Little late...

Great fish-eye view, Pia, I love the looseness on your brushwork; loose, but always getting exactly what it needs to get done.

@Pia - Better late than never and if your Kardak is the last illustration in this thread it provides an excellent end cap.

@ Ken Miller- Thanks! I know do you know how long it took The Great Rexa to get them manicured that way?

Wow! I just went back to look through all the art work again and I just Gotta say that you're all great. Does any one do any actual real comics or web comics? I mean is it cool that I ask?

You bet; most of the posters here do some manner of comics on their own. Check out their profiles through their names, you'll often find links, etc to other work. I self-publish all my own work under my studio name of Cafe Digital Studios, which you can find out more info about at my website.

    Fantastic thread this week.

If anyone needs me, I'll be having pennyroyal tea at Sizer's coffee shop.

@Pia, that hand is beautiful. Very much in keeping with the feel of the character, too. Kind of rocking the delicate hands of an older gentleman feel.

@Pia - Love his expression: I can just imagine all the arcane knowledge whizzing around in his brain.

@David lee Ingersoll - No, I wasn't representing any particular tradition specifically. I just borrowed some imagery from here and there and twisted it until something new looking happened.

My hope was that it would look like he peddled in many different traditions, all of them familiar but still strangely impossible to identify. I might have succeeded.

@Pia - I like your habit for sneaking in towards the end with something awesome. You always make me go "oh". :-)

Eeek, i see it's the last moment to toss mine in, and the villians aren't cleaned up yet :(
Here's Kardak, and you can check the villains later today on my DA page (see links). Or here today if it doesn't get closed.

Bleh, I made these too rushed up. Uhm, yeah, the guy in the back is supposed to be Kid Boppo. Damn, I forgot to add some tone in the nose and hair... Well, that's a shame...
If interesed, the actual Kardak and the poster, here and here!

    @Everyone: awesome entries!!!

So happy to see the REMAKE/REMODEL threads back here.

For some bizarre reason, the name KARDAK THE MYSTIC made me think of the names "Cedric the Entertainer" and "Del the Funkee Homosapien", so I got into a little hip-hop/rapper approach...

    http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s201/tylerragan/Kardak-the-Mystic.jpg

*lyrics borrowed from GORILLAZ "Rock the House"... I had no time to try and come up with my own... apologies if this breaks any copyrighting... lemme know and I can fix.*

I have some great ideas for the rouges gallery, but I'll haveta put them in the regular artist thread sometime within the next few days, since I'm so eager to re-design 'em...
