The Gods were conspiring against you. Apparently something you were working on was destined to destroy the world...

I e-mail myself a lot of stuff. And by "stuff", I mean porn.

LISTENER has obviously sabotaged itself from the future.

Sad to hear it's officially dead.

Glad to hear there's a new one in the works.

I now have so many backups running on this poor little Thinkpad that it's really starting to strain...!

Have you thought about setting up private, secure, web space?

You seem more net/info-tech savvy than you are with actual hardware. With some web-space only you (or anyone you give the password to) can access it. You'd be able to upload backup documents to it as you go, wherever you are, and then down load it to a physical drive at your leisure.

I had a similar computer situation to yours where I lost everything: works in progress, years worth of archived info, the lot. Since then I have discovered the awsomeness of external hard drives. You can get 2TB capacity for a quite reasonable price. Essentially: I now have nothing of any importance permanently stored on the computer, so if it dies, ot dies alone. Same rules apply to my ASUS Eeepc: with everything stored externally and 2GB of RAM it operates quickly and never struggles.

There's also programmes like eBooster and Supercache that really improve your machine's speed and processing ability (and you can use both at the same time).

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for all of this info, but it fits. And if you're running Windows XP there are quite a few settings you can alter that greatly improve performance. I can e-mail details to ypu if you want.

I use Jungle Disk and Dropbox.

(Also running a 1TB external and dumping selected folders to a 32GB USB stick. And, of course, now I'm running Gmail, so I have a archive of all sent materials in the cloud.)

    Dammit.

You posted recently that you wanted to do more with POD. Any specifics or is it too early to tell?

Yeah, that little lot should hold you in good stead. Now, get to work, man! You've got hundreds of thousands of words to recoup.

ASTONISHING X-MEN: probably some delays coming? Short ones? I don't even know anymore.

According to the Marvel Comics website the next couple of months look like this:

    Astonishing X-Men #34 April 28
    Astonishing X-Men: XENOGENESIS #1 May 12
    Astonishing X-Men #35 May 26
    Astonishing X-Men: XENOGENESIS #2 June 09

    and (quite possibly by surprise)
Iron Man: Extremis Director's Cut #1??? May 26 with 2-6 to follow in fairly short order.

All of this answers one question and raises another:

Is Astonishing X-Men: XENOGENESIS replacing Astonishing X-Men or is it a second title in celebration of Marvel's, somewhat vaingloriously titled, Heroic Age?

I have no idea what's going on, actually.

Did you work on Dead Space 2 at all?

Just thought I'd shift this info/pseudo update across from the April 28 Comics on Sale thread:
Joe Distort: just want to know is there going to be DOKTOR SLEEPLESS within the year?

    Warren Ellis: We hope so.

    No.

    @ Warrenellis

Trust me, it's a complete mess, and I'm only with Marvel until you check out. No more Mr. Kieron Gillen and Mr. Steven Sanders on SWORD also made me sad.

Also, Mr. Kaare Andrews is my new God! *see last two Xenogenesis covers.* *big grin*

NICE!!!! That piques my interest! Sadly, my favorite director Ridley Scott seems to have just phoned in and made Gladiator 2 with the Robin Hood template.

I'm not sure if I missed this in previous comments, but do we have any word on Supergod? (That was my first Ellis series, and now I'm taking the long backtrack through his/your work)

And even if it is on a 3 month Hiatus that's ok. Warren, you're writing so much I can usually rely on being able to pick up something from you every week.

Phil Jimenez and Warren Ellis' eXogenetic arc (Astonishing X-Men #34 and #35) have been plagued by an odd delay "problem." Every month it seems those two issues are delayed for a whole extra month. Really confusing and irritating on Marvel's behalf.

Didnt see it on the Revised Update. What is the status of Supergod (really enjoying it)?

And once you have finished with Astonishing X-Men, is that all your work done for Marvel, or have you got something else in the pipeline for them?
