Feeling particularly frustrated, so yesterday was a Nirvana - In Utero day. Nothing like the sound of a guy with a shotgun in his mouth screaming his frustrations at the world. In my opinion all other Nirvana albums just pale by comparison.
@ Internaut: Cadence Weapon is awesome. Have you checked out Thavius Beck or k-thei??? Similar territory, if you're not averse to some hard dance beats in with your hip-hop rhymes.
@Internaut: No, actually not. Just started to make my way through this scene. I'll be honest and confess that Dälek and Saul Williams' Album with Reznor are the only "alternative hip hop" acts I've listened to so far (besides some obivious stuff like the Beastie Boys .... and sometimes love to turn on one of the old Public Enemey records...).
@Texture: I have to admit no, But i will now, especially if they're as good as the previous mentioned stuff. And yes, i love hard dance beats in mah hip hops. @Wangerman: Doomtree is actually a "group" of alt hip hop peoples, including P.O.S. It's not a bad jumping off point if you're wanting to look a few people up.
Oh, and Busdriver. Gotta check out Busdriver and Blackalicious.
Due to current financial restraints, any "new" music I pick up is limited to whatever I find lying on the shelves of local charity shops. Lucky finds over the past fortnight have been:
LAMBCHOP - Nixon MODEST MOUSE - We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank CSS - CSS and the shiniest gem of the bunch: !!! - Myth Takes
Nothing groundbreaking, but fun listening nonetheless.
