well, what i did was make sure that people who could hire me to do comics were seeing or reading my work. i pushed and vamped the animation stuff i did back in the WEF days as a natural extension of pride and hubris and all that, not really realizing that, at the same time, it was serving as my work samples. words and pictures, words and pictures. anyway so people who could hire me to do stuff were seeing my work. and then when i started doing indy books i made sure to give copies to editors whose names were attached to books i admired. Axel Alonso loved LAST OF THE INDEPENDENTS; the rest was just timing. So: I did work. I showed it to people that can hire you. that's what i know.
um... why? i mean, why vertigo? that's like saying it's a shame i'll never have a TV show on ABC as opposed to NBC or something to me.
shit, it's gotta be even worse for you-- i at least have SOME degree of photography to fall back on. i have no idea how you write that book, i really don't. and that you make it all so effortless is more than just a skill, it's a real art. anyway, hat's off to you.did you get the Dré cans?
Heyah Dave. Ariana totally answered the shit out of that one. So let me just say: Ariana is the type of person who you can bring a schizoid nightmare of design like that-- ideally situated to MY monitor, designed to look right only to my specs, when I have the usual apps open and running, wholly inconvenient for anything or anyone other than me-- and she can make it work like butter off a baby's ass. She's good, that one. Also: YAY USELESS DESIGN!
i think the dog ate the only godzilla i had after we put him on kelly sue's... um... giant.. chocolate... log... thing... she made last year.
You know, there's a lot to be said for just doing it.
As a resident of the murder factory (Kansas City, MO for those not in the know.) I was surprised to find out that you lived here. So to you what is the essence of Kansas City or what about Kansas City do you hold near and dear to your hearts?
