    Thanks for addressing at my query about Print On Demand & self publishing models.
    It's also an area that I'm also attempting to come to terms with.

    Finding the market really is the key toward ensuring POD is a successful venture. Then again, it is all about the 'long game' where such things are concerned.
    Warren summed up POD quite nicely in a recent blog posting about his recent Shivering Sands release.

    Creating the work on spec really is the biggest hurdle to overcome when producing something with the intent of having it exist as a POD entity.
    Then again, directing this toward the 'trying to break in' crowd; having a few works available via POD surely wouldn't go unnoticed by potential publisher's browsing one of your pitches.

    I totally glossed over the fact Matt Fraction is sick, damn.

    When I usually have what you have (or an equivalent condition caused by a strain of bacteria that has mutated or your cell memory just forgot what that bacteria was) I drink hot green tea. Tastes bitter, but usually helps mildly with congestion. Also, Motrin helps with any possible fever and body aches.

    Oh, yes one more thing; what invigorated your creative juices, like what movies, events, life situations, etc, that you felt had a large impact on your writing. If it's events or life situations and you don't want to share that is totally peachy.

    Not that anyone actually cares, but major influences for me would consist of The One (the craptastic Dimensional action flick with jet li), Warren Ellis (mostly his choice to not use sound effects among other things), Vampire Hunter D, Hellsing, and Ghost in the Shell (the movie and SAC series 1 and 2).

    Just want to open up, if I am asking you for your (Fraction) influences, i figure I must share mine as sort of, oh I don't know the right word escapes me, so use "equivalent exchange."

    I was at home in my apartment. Then I saw every building flickering from my window, lights going down and coming back for fractions of a second, then going down again. Flickering.

    I was waiting to see a plane crash or some more catastrophic event.

    Then, darkness.

    Then my chinese food arrived.

    As a former comics columnist/blogger/whathaveyou yourself, do you currently read any comics blogs/review sites? I'm thinking more of your Jogs and Mindless Oneses than Newsarama or CBR.

    If yes, which ones; if no, any particular reason outside of "not enough hours in the day"? Big thanks to yourself and Warren for doing this, I'm very excited for Casanova's return.

    Hey Matt,

    Hope you're feeling better today. Since everybody always asks about what you like, what inspires you, etc., I thought I'd flip things around, at least partially. So: Are there any films, comics, books, albums out there that you feel like you should like, given what you know about yourself, but leave you cold? I'm thinking less about things that you're disappointed by and then abandon, and more of things that you struggle with. For example, every few years I try to watch 8 1/2, and I'm always frustrated by it. But, I feel that knowing my taste, I should like like it, and so every few years I try again.

    Ever thought about doing a horror comic?

    Given that comics generally can't do what McKee calls the "cheap shock," what techniques do you think horror comics have over, for example, film?

    What are some of your favorite horror comics? (Aside from Domu, which A. you mentioned previously and B. is impossible to find and not being reprinted at the moment.)

    What's some of your favorite horror B-movies?
