    I hope the HL and Matt feel better soon. I grok the self-purchased health care. Unfortunately, I've found that to be a trade-off to being a freelancer or other form of self-employed situation.

    Love Casanova and i'm enjoying the run on Iron Man, have you read any of the 60's spy books by Adam Diment featuring his oversexed druggie hero Philip McAlpine. When i hear Casonova Quinn's voice i always hear him as a cross between McAlpine and Dirk Bogarde's Gabriel from Modesty Blaise. The covers for Stark: Disassembled also seem to have 60's feel do you have any say in their design

    The Emma and Scott psychic affair and depending on your answer what you made of the Jason Wyngarde/Jean psychic sex thing that occured during the DPS...also do you think Jean slept with Wyngarde as Black Queen? Just wondering cause it'd be pretty hilarious if she did.

    (BTW, as someone whose legal first name is Henry, I appreciate the fact that you guys are part of the growing movement to reclaim that name.)

    Matt, I had one last question: How does your work for Marvel mesh with your work for independent companies? Now that you're at Marvel you aren't producing much creator-owned or independently-published work — is that something that's likely to change relatively soon, or are you happy playing in other peoples' sandboxes rather than spending a good part of your time building your own?

    (I ask because, as much as I've enjoyed all your Marvel WFH work I've read, I'd much rather be reading things like CASANOVA that are more like direct slices of your brain, not run through existing company-owned characters and status quos and everything.)

    this is a super-cop-out, but: as the guy writing the book right now, if I answer the question, it could, in a way, be perceived as canonical; whereas I think it's deliberately ambiguous for any number of reasons and it's more interesting to me to keep that kind of thing subjective. I'll say this: I think Grant's run was filled with very deliberate callbacks to the classic moments in Claremont's run...

    well, politely-- i'm not PUBLISHING much creator-owned work. it doesn't mean i'm not writing it. There's all kinds of stuff I've written that you just haven't seen, yknow?

    I guess I'm too late for the asking questions part, but I'd like to say thanks for doing this thread; as always, it's a treat to hear you talk about process. Ever since Savant and Poplife, your words have always been a fantastic source for inspiration and energy when I hit the creative doldrums.

    Presuming it isn't too late, have you ever done any public speaking outside of conventions (in school, dramatics, school office), and if so, how did that inform your decision to write. On a related secondary note, are there any public speakers (or writers for public speakers), that inspired you? Audiobooks? I personally quite like Neil Gaiman reading his work, and would welcome version of both yours, and Warren's spoken into my audible bits.

    I hope you get onto the feeling a bit better soon, and many thanks for this nifty Q&A session!
