Ok, so I probably should have asked this a couple of weeks ago when 2008 was still fresh and untainted, but still...

    My picks:

    The 21st Sparks album
    Mike Patton's 'Mondo Cane'
'Dig Lazarus Dig' by Nick Cave ATBS
The new Super Furry Animals album.

    What about you?
  1.  (721.2)
    nick cave's definatly
meshuggah's new one, whenever it comes out
*shel's the plains of the purple buffalo

and off'tan'discord's People, although that is my own, so of course i'm excited about it ;)
  2.  (721.3)
    Crystal Castles' first album.

    The Mountain Goats' new one.

I tend not to know about things coming out until after they're out, so I'm sure there's other stuff I'd want if I knew about it.

    Cavalera Conspiracy
    Bill Frisell

Probably loads of other things, but these will be bought in the first week in all likelihood

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.
Bauhaus are releasing their first album in over 25 years in March. That should be worth a listen.

The new Gnarls Barkley is the only thing I know that's coming out that I'm looking forward to. I hope Blackalicious or DJ shadow release something this year, especially as Shadow's last album wasn't what I was hoping.

    Peace,

Ummm, Mastodon is supposed to have a new album out soon, and I've really been digging Blood Mountain, so I guess that one.

I'm mainly just waiting for bands to come out to Australia to tour in support of albums they brought out last year.

Blindstrong, you might like that new Frightened Rabbit record coming on FatCat. Sooooo good. "Backwards Walk" just demolishes me. "You're the shit and I'm knee deep in it." Yes.

I'm very excited for the new Rollercoaster Project album on Dreamboat.

Destroyer, Mission of Burma reissues, Apes and Androids, Low Lows, Abe Vigoda and, God willing, the new Wrens album. Oh, and that forthcoming Ponytail record on Monitor. Melt-Banana fans, take note of that one.

Nothing confirmed, but I'm anticipating new albums by The Bouncing Souls, Less Than Jake, Alkaline Trio, Finch, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Strike Anywhere, Rancid, Flogging Molly, Madcap, Propagandhi, Anti-Flag, and Rise Against.

And as for the definites there's the new Bullet For My Valentine disc that came out today, the new Loved Ones out next week, and the next set of Thrice EPs out in April or May I think. Good goddamn year that all is.

Was looking forward to the new Mars Volta album, but I have it now and it's good.

The new Meshuggah, obZen, although I've heard mixed things about it from people who've heard the leak.

New Autechre album, which looks like it might be a double album.

New Opeth album at the end of May, I hope it's better than the last one.

Apparently there might be a new Mastodon, I hope so...

New Ihsahn album, ought to be quite good at least...

Kayo Dot are releasing another one apparently.

I've heard of maybe new Satyricon and Enslaved albums...

I also wonder if that Kraftwerk boxset will finally come out.

    Wolf Parade
    Sunset Rubdown

Other than that, I'm not sure... totally lost touch with what the cool kids are listening too since the demise of Oink (which I found more useful for watching downloading trends than actual downloading).

    @miccas75

The Gutter Twins finally in the pipeline, heard about this eons ago....?

    That's not to say I don't like them. They're just super-depressing.

I'm kind of looking forward to the second half of The Alchemy Index by Thrice.

The first half was a mixed bag, but I'm so indebted to 2005's Vheissu, that I'll take new Thrice where & when I can get it.
