innerpartysystem have really impressed me with their innovatively-titled album innerpartysystem. It's hard to classify, but it basically boils down to the same sort of rock-with-electric-bits-bolted-on as Bloc Party have been messing around with for Intimacy, but it's a fair sight angrier, and less heavy on the guitars. I love the album, but in particular I love the remixes based on it. Don't Stop especially is one of those songs that has 300 people scratching their head and saying "it's okay, but imagine how badass it would sound when I fuck with it", and they did, and it was good. It's not very sophisticated music, but it's good fun to flail your limbs to
I've probably forgotten a few things, but these all stand out as great records released this year. Plus, I’m sick to the teeth of reading piss weak ‘best of the decade’ album lists that suggest a further atrophy of the collective musical consciousness, culminating in a revisionist orgy whereby Joy Division and The Beach Boys are repeatedly gang raped by contemporary musicians.

These lists have been great. When I used to DJ I was much more on top of indie releases and bands, but I've not kept up with them for the last 3 years or so. These lists help me "cheat" by catching me up with what I've missed. I am much obliged.
Recently discovered liking the current COBALT Album "Gin" Very much. It draws influences from Hemingway and Hunter S. Thonpson and is musically rooted in Black Metal, but it's something else.
