    i haven't done much lately.

however, i am leaving for detroit tomorrow, and will be all over the states for the next month. so, if you want to walk around and take pictures with me, or force me into stupid outfits and/or make me bleed for the benefit of your camera, let me know. i'm not an awesome model, but i am pretty willing.

@Coop : Ah, yes... of course it makes sense if you've already got the lenses. The GF1 is indeed a perfect match for a portable setup with these nice things :).

speaking of camera porn, here's my forensic Polaroid camera:

    L1430248.jpg

You might remember it from the autopsy scene in Silence Of The Lambs. It's a 4"x5" polaroid back, mounted to a long housing with a pistol grip and a lens with a small but powerful ring flash. (That's what the power pack is for.) it has an extremely shallow DOF, centered at a point at the end of the metal plates on either side. It was made for taking life-size photos of gunshot wounds, teeth marks, etc. However, taken out of that context, you can make some cool art with it.

So is there a reason to it all, or did you just stop taking your OCD meds?

@kuru93: A much better term than what I've been calling it ("camera-lust"). And acquiring more cameras just seems to make it worse...

I'd be interested in photo adventures with you if you end up passing through Montreal at all.
(I know you said US, but I figure it isn't impossible that you'd pass through here on your way back to Toronto.)
If you come this way and want to model for me just email me (veronika DOT von DOT volkova AT gmail DOT com) and we'll scheme.

I've heard it as G.A.S.- Gear acquisition syndrome.

"Augh! Let's get outta this Leica shop! It's giving me bad G.A.S.!"

Kuru93: Please don't think I am in any way giving you a hard time - I have the same relentless need to acquire myself, although mine has more to do with hot rod parts, old watches and japanese toys. I moved into a big work studio a few years ago, and the increase in square footage only made things worse! It does make for a nice selection of props for photos shoots though...
