Did I not get invited to the photo party, or did I just forget? The photo threads on WC are, of course, my favorite. I can't believe I haven't been over recently, I'm missing all kinds of awesome stuff.
You guys probably already saw this, but just in case you didn't, I'll post it bitty because it's really fun
And another I'm really happy with from the 365
The idea of a traditional 365, one photo per day, self portrait or otherwise, stresses me out unbelievably. So, since I'm still pretty green as a photog, I'm challenging myself to process new and old photos in a particular style [1 photo per day, 1 style per month] to help strengthen my post processing skills and workflow. January's theme is black and white. There's a whole explanation as to why in the tumblr where they originally post. They're crossposted to flickr here.
Already I'm seeing more varied shots with my eye, and really getting a lot more out of some shots I originally rejected. -

I tried doing a photo a day, but it got to be so unbelievably tedious I stopped after a month. I applaud you for keeping at it, lexmachine.
I did get a few nice shots I'm still proud of out of it, like these two;

Moar b/w photography! When I was in Houston, I went with friends to Glenwood Cemetery on Washington. We saw Howard Hughes's grave (boring), paid our respects to Gene Tierney and Glenn McCarthy (Jett Rink in "Giant"), both interred in the Lee family plot, and said howdy to Anson Jones, last of the four Presidents of the Republic of Texas (1836-1845).

@William George I'm kind of cheating because I'm not taking the photos each day, simply processing them [and I do a lot of late nights so they're only *technically* daily] but I am learning a LOT already. I really love that first shot, his body language conveys something different each time I look at it. The dof in the second shot is nice too.
@photomagex Awesome! I love, love, love rusty old cars and old cars in general probably make up 1/4 of my photo files. Where are you from, just out of curiosity?
@bjacques Nice shot. I admit it, my gothy roots [and I don't mean the brown ones under my punk rock dye] mean I'm a sucker for cemetery photos. I really need to make an effort to look up more famous graves as we travel, that's really fun.
@Munin Thank you! I love your stuff too. The blinds in that top shot are creeping me out. They'd be creepier if there was a shadow there, but it still looks like you caught someone peekin. And that second shot is just epic.

Just started/finished a portrait commission today. The subject didn't really know where she wanted to shoot so we ended up walking nearly ten miles around the city just taking some photos. Was still getting used to taking photos of people, but I think I did pretty well on this one! Here are a couple of shots from it:

@lexmachine: Thanks! I haven't done much film photography in awhile, so I figured a cemetery on a sunny day is an easy way to get back into it. You've got beauty, weathering, built-in pathos and subjects that don't mind being photographed. -
