@lexmachine - thanks for the kind words. I live in central Ontario, Canada. The pix of the trucks are about 4 hours north of where I live. The whole area is lakes and forest so a lot of lumber mills operate in that area.

@oldhat - that third shot is AWESOME!

@pookylou - I can't see your stuff for some reason. This makes me sad.

@Fat Mike - ALso have to say, holy shit color! They look like neon pacman ghosties, but I think they may be some kind of dyed mushroom? I'll shop it around to my foodie friends and see if anyone knows.

@photomagex - I only asked because we say "up north" in Michigan too, but very few other places do. ;)

@allana - Amazing as always. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that masked lady, what is the story behind that one?

@thewaltonsare - very nice. I suck at macro, even with the right equipment, I just fail fail fail. No idea why. I think the pencil sharpener is my favorite. Something to do with the anxiety I felt every time I had to draw attention to myself by walking over to the pencil sharpener, and just reminiscent enough of revolver cartridge to remind me that it made me want to shoot myself in the face. That sounds really horrible, hah, but I mean it in the very best way.

So speaking of depressing things and um Canada

Here's a shot of Detroit as seen from Windsor, Ont. We were there to pick up a friend from the train station last friday:

And for some uplifting work, here's a shot of my awesome friend, Louisville blacksmith Lewis Meyer, hitting some hot fucking metal with a hammer:

@LexMachine-Thanks! I really enjoy macro. It's just fascinating to me to take ordinary objects and look at them from a different perspective. I hadn't thought of the pencil sharpener as looking like a revolver before, I guess it does! Thanks for the comments!

I think your photos are beautiful!

Dammit! The whole roll of 220 except for three shots it like this.

    Nooooo!

This was the last thing I wanted to see from this film... If you can picture a sad puppy, that's my face right now.

Last week my friend Lory asked to shoot some portraits of me, to which i agreed on the condition that I get to shoot her as well.

Later, my girlfriend came home from work, and wanted to pose for Lory as well. As this was occurring, our neighbor, also a photographer, dropped by with several bottles of excellent tequila for a taste test, and Topless Tequila Tuesday was born!

Seattle has a new (well, going on four years now) holiday tradition in a burlesque staging of the Nutcracker called The Land of the Sweets. I've been something like the staff photographer since it got started and I was there again this year, having an absolute blast... even when my primary lens apparently died.

They invited me to shoot from the wings, which was an absolute treat.
