Visited (and toured) Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House in Chicago over the holiday weekend. It was a bit of a downer to not be able to take indoor photos, but I got a couple good exterior shots.

The west "prow," looking in toward the living room from the terrace.

Shot from the southwest corner (Woodlawn and 58th). I didn't realize it when I was there, but the mortar for the vertical brick joints is a different, darker color from the horizontal joints, to emphasize the horizontal lines even further.

On our list on things to do in Chicago is go to the Oak Park suburb and tour the Wright houses (and the studio) out there.

Am able to show it now. Basically that shoot I did a while back of the behind the scenes pics of the music video shoot? Well, originally it was supposed to be for their newsletter, but they liked the images so much, they used them for the album.

    This makes me very excited.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie
Through pastures green he leadeth me the silent waters by
With bright knives he releaseth my soul
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places
He converteth me to lamb cutlets

Just got back from Mariposa Folk Festival. My eyeballs are currently bleeding, so I'll be going through the photos I took then. In the meantime, I just couldn't let this one lie in my brain all night. Little Miss Higgins.

Another one I couldn't leave alone tonight. Ian Tyson.

Florence Chan, that is just beautiful! Is it some sort of nightjar or a very small owl?

Hoping fine weather here tomorrow might finally get me out of the house and taking some decent photos. There's this steam-powered carosel that I need more photos of!

Taken and spammed as an "it's the outside world", but I think it deserves to be here:

@Smileyfish: Thanks! It's a screech owl - they're only maybe about 9-10" tall? A conservation group was showing some live birds of prey at the Royal Ontario Museum last weekend, where i had the opportunity to take this shot.

but, but it's got green stuff on it... wait, the thick layer of mayonnaise holding the lettuce to the bread cancels that out.

you're right, it's not, but it's just so darn good.

scary part: that's just a regular. they also offer it in a large that's twice as long. I ate one of those once. still not sure how I'm alive.

So it looks like that before you eat it? Thank Cthulhu that it's not in focus.
