    I rather think this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever photographed, but I can't figure the saturation/balance:

    can't decide
    ?? which one ??
    beauty in filth

    Aerial clouds

    I am still somewhat on the fence about the polarized rainbow that third pic's got going on. Happy accident? Hm.

    Fun with some staggeringly craptastic and very expired Chinese "Lucky" brand 100 speed print film:

    @Rachel - I like the top one.

    I guess the verdict is: Top. Thanks everyone!

    Florence Chan - Those clouds are fabulous. The rainbow effect is lovely. I just took some photos of similar clouds two days ago! I'm guessing mine won't look nearly as fabulous as yours...

    @Florence Chan: Where was that first photo taken? It looks like a Cathedral that was turned into a mosque (Arabic script), so I'm guessing Turkey or somewhere similar. It makes me wish I could have been there.

    @Rachael: Thanks :D

    @trini: It was taken in the Imperial Ballroom at the Boston Park Plaza hotel this weekend. the lights on the second floor change colour slowly, giving the whole place a magical feel at night. It looks a lot more like a typical ballroom during the day.

    You guys are making me feel really lazy in not getting out there and taking photos. I think I'm going to pick up a roll of b&w film and do a practice with my dad's old Nikon. And, you know, do some stuff with my D50.

    Beautiful, beautiful work all of you.

    i wonder if i could ask a favour: add my new blog-thing to your RSS feeds?

    this is sort of a soft launch - in ten days i should be moving into an apartment, from which i'm planning on posting daily - mostly photos and writing samples and fashion and whatever else i have in mind. this, to go along with a new website i will be making once i settle in.
    so i've got it just about set up, and some starter posts in place - the only thing i'm missing is the apartment....
    anyways, i'm going to try to make it entertaining and not take up too much space. kthx!

    blog: theindex.allanaaa.com/
    RSS feed: allanaaa.tumblr.com/rss

    (oh, anyone with a tumblr know how to mask my RSS? like, make it "theindex.allanaaa.com/rss" instead of "allanaaa.tumblr.com/rss"?)

    Taken yesterday.
    Malt
    Last night at the Fairbank Summer Festival
    The sky had been drizzling rain on and off all day, but torrented full force nearer the end of the night as a latin band braved through rain-heavy tarps and driving angular rain to entertain the folks who stayed behind, hiding under umbrellas and event tents. By the end of it, I was thoroughly drenched, but I had fun.

    @Florence, LOVE that first shot so much. I really wish I was able to go with you.

    Was at the cottage this weekend and decided to go for a walk and take a few snaps.
