   Los Alamos National Laboratory Researchers Accidentally Blow up Building with a Cannon
   

   According to a Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Occurrence Report, “Shock and Detonation Physics Group researchers heard a loud unusual noise from Technical Area 15, Building 562 after firing a shot from a large-bore powder gun (LBPG).” The researchers accidentally blew a building apart at Technical Area-15, on December 16, 2009 while testing a gun which acts like a Civil War cannon.

   
   Reading this, a couple things occur to me:
   1) I'm not sure why this is noteworthy to the oversight group, as I expect Los Alamos to be doing things like blowing apart buildings with civil war cannons.
   2) I'm thinking about making "Shock and Detonation Comics Group" part of my job title.

    @Internaut, re: Ten Thousand Pictures of You - I started watching that thinking, ugh, stop motion people - something I usually hate because it is usually boring - but then it kept getting more and more clever, and it ended up being really good!

    While renewing registration for my car, I noticed that amongst the personal plates I could opt for the "Choose Life Coalition" graphic. If I knew the extra money for it wasn't donated to them, I would have done this....
