I was thinking the same thing. Luke always came off as an utter fuck knuckle, but Mark, at least in the last few episodes, has been kind of charming and likable. But then, the world's biggest bastards tend to start out that way...

@AndrewT - "when I saw them all line up behind Arkady..." - It was actually KK. I find KK's buddy-buddy-ness with Mark interesting and disturbing. She arrived at the warehouse with him as well, and seems on board with everything he suggests.
I wasn't expecting the "Big Push" this week, so I am not disappointed. They are still realizing their potential, and we have too much time left in book four for this to be it.
Another lovely episode, thank you folks. -
There must be a certain amount of relief, blasting through a police line like that, but when KK started laughing? She was nuttier than Kait at that moment. If KK drove shotgun on this little punch, who will be driving the big one?

Week has gone very quickly, but it has also been filled with an enormous amount of joy and Things Got Done. and also my parents keep buying me dinner out.

beautiful AND thrilling - another fantastic ep.
Love the concrete cracking in concentric rings, same as we saw when Luke got flattened by the girls.
Gives me this feeling of some awesome irresistible pressure suddenly being brought to bear. PUNCH.
Gravity misbehaves, cars and cops torn to bits and tossed through the air.
So, evidence, if any were needed, that the freakpowers have potentially far greater magnitude than anything we've seen before.
Would a hard enough PUNCH tilt the earth off its axis?
Would you knowingly ruin the whole world to save yourself and the people you love?
Would Mark? ... Would Arkady? -

Brilliant! Some random thoughts
* The practice punch panel is great, but I think my favorite image involves the disc-shaped shields our heroes raise in the forest.I must say, though, the leap from "those bastards shot me" to "we need to seriously fuck shit up right NOW" was a pretty light trigger. Straw that broke the camel's back, I suppose.
* Mmm...I disagree. Even if the FAs hadn't just spent the past hours/days/weeks running from an entire army, getting shot by a sniper in a helicopter is still pretty friggin' scary, and its coming just after the FAs most effective defense so far. There's nothing like a painful and potentially fatal gunshot wound to make a person think, "Now or never."
At least, I imagine it isn't. I've never been shot, but all available evidence seems to indicate the that the experience is chock full of owie. -

Week has been a blur. There's been no time for anything and it's gonna be X-mas and New Year before we fucking know it! Argh!
Great installment, btw. My favorite part is when everyone laughs. I would SO do that if I had awesome powers. I'd be drunk with it and PUNCH everything! BOOSH!
The pacing is starting to inspire to me as well. Kind of wanna do that in the future someday; just relax and let the thing breathe with big drawings and brisk pacing. -

Is it wrong that I find myself hoping some of those soldiers/cops survived so they could sit around afterwards contemplating how their 'briefing' (Ep 77 Page 6) was so completely off the mark? (that'll teach 'em!)
Another great episode - KK's (I think it's KK, although it's a little hard to tell) maniacal laughter was chilling. I hope it's down to being drunk with power although perhaps (as Indigo Rose pointed out) this far back in the past she's totally on board with Mark.
As for my week, bleugh. Best thing that can be said it it's over. -

Greetings all from the slightly snowy land of Texas.
I'm loving the story of the end of the world. The punch is amazing even in practice mode. Yet what I can't stop wondering is what it would look like in present time. their powers seemed to develop on a more gross-to-fine scale rather than raw power, at least from what we've seen. It's all about dis/assembling or directing a bullet. While reasonable considering the guilt that came post-punch, I can't help but wonder what Mark has done since the punch. If he had the same guilt or if he took the powers in a unforeseeable direction.
Thanks for feeding the addiction, much like snow in Texas, it makes Fridays lovely. -
