    Last night, 12/8/09, AndreNavarro got tired of bashing the brains of poor hookers in and he decided to host an open skype session. Most of the people that were awake on the WC irc channel decided to join. Much fun was had. Hookers were saved. All was well with the world. Andre suggested we do this again soon and so why not have actual Saturday Nigh Open Mics, where we get together and bitch with actual voices.

    It really does seem like the natural evolution of the chat room. So if you're awake on a lonely saturday night, come to the IRC channel and join in on skype... and listen to Andre's sultry voice lull Brazilian escorts into a false sense of security by doing his cover of Brazilian pop hit "Creu".

    Well, it was actually Rootfireember's idea, she just comissioned the tiresome task of getting everyone's asses in Skype to me. And unless my memory lies to me (which is quite possible), the "let's do this again" suggestion was YOURS, you bastard, I just agreed wholeheartedly to it.

    It was very fun. Hookers, however, were only temporarily saved.

    The Whitechapel IRC room, for those who don't know how to access it yet: click here, type in your nickname and, on "channel", type "#whitechapel". UPDATE: I've just been informed there's a new chatroom. There seem to be people there at any given time.

    As Corben said, we're doing this again next Saturday Night. I had fun getting people to pronounce my name correctly, and they had fun laughing at the gaps in my attempt at an American accent (I prefer British, but my tongue and everyone else's ears don't). We discussed everything, from the inevitable nerd subjects to politics. Regardless of subject many laughs were had.

    So, next Saturday night, get a mic and come join us -- or just listen to us talk if you don't have a mic, and use the IM option in Skype to join in via text, as most people did last night.

    Yeh I was an instigator... I'll admit it. I also don't know how to add people via the skype-on-ipod. :P Last night was a lot of fun. I laughed. I laughed and spit my mt.dew out, because drinking and laughing don't mix. And I never want to hear "Creu" again. haha. Several people talked, several people typed, and much fun was had by all.     This sounds like an insanely fun time. Now I just have to figure out this Skype business. And stay awake long enough for it to become Saturday Night in the Americas.

    With any luck, I shall inflict my voice upon you, come Saturday.

    Also, I always imagined that Andre's voice sounded like Evil. Not that he sounds evil, you understand, but that his mouth emits the sound of Pure EVIL. And that a well-aimed grunt from the back of his throat would actually stop the hearts of lesser beasts, and possibly babies.

    oh! yay! With my nifty new laptop, I have a microphone! Aaaaaand I installed Skype already for no apparent reason! You will all be able to enjoy my lovely New Jersey accent (coffee = "kaw-fee")!
