I just put issue #3 up on Scribd, it can be found right here. I also just noticed as I am very perceptive and constantly vigilant, that when reading it on the site itself, a lot of the formatting for text is wonky. I have no clue why, it just is. The PDF is not that way, nor is the magazine itself when bought from MagCloud. So the best way to read it from Scribd is just to sign up/sign in and download the PDF and read it on your computer. The formatting is like in the magazine and it is still free.

Make Something #4 is available for purchase (or can be gotten free using the iPad) through MagCloud.

It is also up for free reading or download through Scribd. Hope everyone enjoys the issue, and I apologize for the huge gap between 3 and 4 for those who were waiting on it. All I can say is holidays are a pain.

I just learned of the BEST place to put a QR Code because of this issue. Must implement in the future....

The rest of the issues are now also available for free via iPad (the option didn't exist when they first went up, and I forgot to edit them). What's interesting is that there have been as many iPad views as the number of physical copies sold, so it does get more eyes on the final product.

@Cameron it is such an original idea for using QR Code too. It was also the final thing sent to me for the issue, and filled the last hole I had for a more visual item.

@luckycreature Does it count as hard work when it's 90% fun?

Its the other 10 percent that makes it hard. Cant wait to get my issues.

    Congratulations on reaching #4.

    And all fixed now...

In other news I'm back in the hunt for new content for the next issue, there are two stories left in the backlog, and two poems, so if you are interested in submitting something please send it my way. Feel free to look at any of the past issues to get a nice idea of what has been published thus far. I am on the look out for more poetry to get a nice spread to go along with the two I currently have.

@Warren Thank you kindly, sir, and thanks again for linking this thread to your main site, it got a lot of responses, plus thanks for the forum in general... I will quit thanking and kissing ass now.

After a big gap, the magazine will be returning with new changes, more pages, and if all works out, still being free to all! We are looking to print the magazine ourselves and get it into local (St. Louis area) shops and then also make it cheaper then MagCloud for those around the world. But I won't blabber on about that too much (see newly edited first post for details), I will say I am back to looking for new content to fill out the issue, and hope to see some wonderful things in the in box soon. Send anything and everything to

Any specific dates for getting work in? Also are you still going with the Magcloud specs for pages (for comics, etc.)?

Allen, new short sent. Glad your continuing.

ack! Will be reshuffling my doodling priorities... Wanna try something new to submit to you... Very excited to see what youve come up with...!

As for PDF distribution, check out It's a pretty awesome digital comics site. They charge a couple bucks to list but I /think/ if you offer youre PDF for free they list it for free. I've bought from them and have Scrambled Circuits listed up there.

So, is color still an option for us or will it be b/w only now?

Thanks guys. While there is no strict set deadline at this time, I would say that sending anything by September 1st will make have a chance to appear in the next issue, anything after will be set for the following issue(s). The issues will still be in color, while black and white only would be cheaper, it isn't all that much to get everything printed in color instead. I did think about the illustrated section as well, I wasn't so sure if it would have enough art to make it a proper candidate.
