good morning. it is rather nasty here too.. oh I can't wait for next week!
my mouth hurts. I went to the dentist last week and got my wisdom tooth pulled. I felt like such a pussy while they were working because it hurt really badly and I yelled and cried (the damned novacain wore off and I could feel the root being yanked out), and generally acted like a big baby. Yesterday made me feel a little better. I went to get the stitches out and told the doctor I was healing but in quite a bit of pain still. She told me that I should have been, considering my extraction was a "really bad one". Not that they did a bad job, but because of the fuktarded way that my tooth was growing in, they had to cut into the bone to release it. And I gotta do it all over again once this one heals up...yay.
They are cutting down birches and pines outside my window why o why (and making an awful noise of it to), logging always seems wrong to me in a housing area.
Shitty weather out here, and the x-mas crazyness is starting at work, so lots of stressed people buying present... jey! But I have the day off tomorrow, wich is awesome, and a birthday party tonight that has a day of the dead theme, really looking forward to that.
i welcome the cold like a long lost lover that stole my drugs.....
We have a fully fledged storm raging outside the flat. Been off work for 2 days now with a fucked lower back i´m trying not too move too much as it hurts if i cough, sneeze.... err and by moving. Painkillers are not doing the job that they were marketed to do! This means that i will be missing at least THREE xmas parties this weekend....
Ah sod it. I´m just mix meds with beer and wallow in self pity. Yay!!
never too cold here in paradise we have earthquakes instead
I must admit the FA's are showing a good deal of restraint- considering. hardly madness more like surgical precision
@Pooka- no reference to your unfortunate incident had my wisdom teeth removed with considerable dental strong-arming as well Sometimes I wonder at humans and our strange bodies- extra teeth that we don't need- useless internal features like the appendix as if life isn't weird enough....
Freezing here, literally this morning. Another ace installment, the last for a while though?? Noooooo! What happened? (*argh*) Off to Nottingham tomorrow to meet a friend I don't see enough, hope the Xmas shoppers aren't too crazy. @ Pooka hope the tooth feels better, sounds horrid!
Shitty week, that thank to the cosmic powers that be, will be over in a couple of hours. Winter is here, i could feel it today - the air was so clear, and it was so cold (damn, that t-shirt will haunt me). The tram i was in hit a man, big crowd, yelling... I am considering a first aid class - i felt absolutely useless.
If next week is a skip one, it will be so not pre-_insert_pagan_holiday_you_are_celebrating_...
Morning, everypeople! It's cold as balls but I have a kitten in my lap to compensate.
Gotta say, fabulous job this week. Looks like Arkady found a replacement for whatever she was shooting herself up with when Mark showed her how to do this, didn't she let her vision pan out in an earlier episode?
The cold along with the short days just really hits a soul hard, don't it? Can't wait for Dec 21st to get here so I can start being a little more optimistic each day.
Wow, didn't expect to get an idea what the Angels did this early on. Double-wow on the display. You draw crumpling cars, buildings and aircraft like I've always dreamed of doing, Mr. Duffield.
At the risk of sounding like a complete and utter tool, I would like to express the opinion that Transmetropolitan, my favorite serial ever, is no longer Warren's greatest work.
Every week, this thing unfolds like the wings of a sophisticated fighter jet, and rams a missile with a camera on it straight up our asses.
And it's free.
And it's brilliant.
And I hope it drops in on my Fridays for a long, long time.
Interesting! Nice to see how they did it, finally! And Paul - fantastic art!
I'm good. Wrangling with some front-end design after finally getting access to the server I need. I have a deadline of next week to make our OPAC look as much like the parent organisation's site as possible and also be usable by users. Parent organisation website designed by the biggest group of, uh bankers ever, so making their code useable is uh, keeping me gainfully occupied.
But, I get to flee the building early so I can head to Brighton and spend the weekend with t'other half, so. \o/
Put the fear of god in them, nobody should hunt people like that! I don't like how Mark will then turn to mentally enslaving people, pain gone to far, but the British government warranted the hell the FA brought down on them. They tried to obliterate something that was so much powerful than them precisely because they couldn't control the FA. This is what happens when oppressed people have power, they fight back. Then some try to make things better, others become the oppressor, it's a vicious cycle.
All is well in Canada. Cloud cover means reprieve from bitter frost/snow this morning!
When you look at how the military are charging after them, (admittedly with the biggest guns they have,) but with almost no knowledge of how these kids work, it makes you wonder how much involvement the military had in their past lives. It was said they were all born in the same village on the same day, which is a difficult thing to manage even with science with two normal kids from different parents. It just makes me think that if the military/government had something to do with their creation, even if it was a creation that got out of hand in the end, they would be less inclined to call them 'freaks', as they would have a better grasp on what the kids were and how to deal with them, and perhaps if they had a hand in their growing up things wouldn't have got this far. I'd almost want to say the military/government were not responsible for their creation, but discovered it afterward and felt they needed to deal with it, resulting in this clash. But if the military/government didn't create them, what did? Too many GMO vegetables eaten at a young age? Wild chemicals in the water supply?
It seems like every episode puts a piece of the puzzle in place, but then makes you realize the puzzle is actually one of those massive, 5000 piece coffee table monsters instead of the jigsaw you started out with. I love it.
