No, it's Jack who's gone missing. Going forward frame by frame from the one in which the FA first circle up, everyone maintains their positions, with Jack between Kait and Miki. Then, it all blows up, and there is no one between Kait and Miki.
It would have been fitting if Mark had gone *poof* or become a guided missile, but he's still there in his dark track suit and white sneakers.
My first thought at page 6, panel 2 is "That doesn't look too bad". A couple of dead trees and downed helicopters plus some scorch marks, preceded by a very pretty light show. Were there more pages I'd be turning them like mad right now, because Consequences should be coming quick.

apparently we had an earthquake. in nebraska. no one I know noticed it. winter is settling in very deeply and everything that was lovely and crisp and snow is now horrid and messy and gray and slush.

I too expected there to a much more... incorporeal method for 'punching the world.' More emphasis on tectonics and the planet's magnetic field than giant psychic knuckles...
Still, the anticipation is dreadful, which is getting to be half the fun with FreakAngels.
