Read TRANSMET in college as I could really relate to the Journalist vs. the Establishment motif. Got out of comics but visited the Warren Ellis website over the years for nostalgia. I knew he was going to do webcomics eventually in a big way and I wasn't wrong.
Got hooked on episode 7. HOOKED. Kirk looking up at the sky, glancing at his watch just to double check when he already knows the time, getting on the horn to tell everyone it's going to be a good day. The only time a writer will spend so much time on such a scene is when he has confidence that what he has is REALLY GOOD. It's like Steinbeck's EAST OF EDEN or Dickens' BLEAK HOUSE. These are writers who know how to get to the point but they will build it up when the payoff is worth it.
Took a while to brave up enough to WHITECHAPEL to register and make comments. But when you're getting this much artistry for free you have to pay respects. -

I started reading Doktor Sleepless when it first came out, and then after reading the backmatter, signed up at the Doktor Sleepless website, and then hopped on whitechapel, about a week before the first episode of FreakAngels. (and man was I shocked, I had no idea that I would be this hooked, by something this good, for this free!) Took me alot longer to actually create an account here, and then it took maybe about a year before I started making an ass of myself. -

I'm having a time out until I can learn some manners.I use a program called comic rack and they had a link to it because they added a feature to view web comics -
Been hearing about this for a while over at the CBR forum, and finally gave it a shot. Well, I wasn't let down at all. Fanfuckintastic! I wanted to take it slow, but my self control is shit and I couldn't stop myself from reading through the entire collection last week.

I was walking by a friend of mine while he was on his laptop reading one of the earlier epsiodes, where arkady is hopping from place to place, and I thought, "Is she teleporting? Cool." And I asked him what it was and read it all in a couple of days and now I'm an official FA junkie. When this comic ends there had better be something just as good after, or I'm gonna need rehab :).

A friend of mine posted on Facebook "12:30 on Friday and no FreakAngels. Help!" so I googled FreakAngels, started reading and was hooked immediately - this was near the end of book 4, I caught up with the previous episodes just in time for book 5.

I was reading over The Webcomic List Awards. Freak Angels was up for Best Colour art and won.
I read up to the current update in one sitting, couldn't take my eyes away from the screen:) -

Every time I've tried to read the first issue of Transmet on the Vertigo No. 1s page, my internet browser has crashed. It got to the point that I was trying daily to get to that first issue. I became mildly obsessed with Transmet, and from there looked everywhere for other examples of Ellis's work to see what on earth could possibly be contained in that first issue.
Basically, because my town doesn't have a sufficient comics store, I started reading FreakAngels. -
My Star Wars powered comic friend Tom Taylor said that I should read it. It was my first foray into comics, baring a previously quickly scanned JHM. I'm glad I found it, and am still determined to add my 'how to make a steam punk satchel' to the blog area. As I've not even yet figured out how to add a picture... this may take awhile. But an overall 'Yay!' to a great online community.

I got into a converstion with some cybergoth geezer who worked at forbidden planet in leicester about Warren Ellis (I have been a fan since transmetropolitan which I have in its entirety) and he mentioned it so i checked it....i think it was about #20 or something I just lurked till now. -
purely by accident. Just doing a bit of googling and all of a sudden.... big hit. Lucky shot so to speak, very lucky shot. :D

I was reading the web comic, Zom-Ben when I decided to get adventurous with it, and check out the "links" page.
I didn't see anyone slipping me a red pill, in the process; maybe someone had snuck it into my beer.
The story is awesome, and the art, superb. I look forward to finding the space to store every book that comes out, under the title. Mucho bueno. -
