PS Jurgan was one of my favourite characters in the crappy tv series La Femme Nikita (it is wrong how much I love that series even now) -
@evelet heh. I have to confess, I've no idea where I came across Jurgan or Jaeger as my online monikers (tho it leads credence to a theory of learning foreign languages as a bairn being born an army brat in Germany)
Anyway, I kinda messed it up somewhat with the black... did the indian ink first and then it all went wonky when I tried to blend in the hair and such. Apologies there! -
Thanks Paul, I need to spend more time farting around with my new Waicom tablet. You and a few others like @Dbed made me pick up MangaStudio, so I've got more experimenting to do.

Damn, Neil, you are going in some incredibly unique directions with these recent illustrations, man! I love the combo of hard lines and almost out-of-focus parts, almost like a messed up depth of field. Kudos! -

Thanks Paul, yeah the depth of field thing was something I used to do in life drawing classes, block in a silloette then detail an eye or nose - the theory being your mind fills in the blanks and focuses on whats important. It doesn't always work - I often get carried away and do too much detail, then I pull some hair out for an hour or two... :)
