Seed: my favorite science magazine. Outstanding writing. Every issue features a two-way interview between a cutting-edge scientist and a cutting-edge artist. Paste: best design for a music magazine, AND every issue comes with a sampler CD of the musicians featured in the mag. The Atlantic: for in-depth current affairs. I dunno exactly what it is, but somehow I just like it a little more than the New Yorker. National Geographic: a classic, and still brilliant. May all the gods bless 'em. Hi-Fructose: awesome fun art mag. See above. Interzone: U.K.-based science fiction short-story magazine. Fun, modern, great visuals. Bust: snappy culture writing; reminds me of a national version of the Pittsburgh alt-weekly I used to edit. The Believer: unusual literary coverage. At times overly twee, but still, it's not afraid to experiment, and there's something outstanding in every issue.
I'm running out of space, and as an inveterate hoarder I had to stop any regular mag purchases. If I'm commuting and need something to read, I might pick up Sight and Sound or Empire magazine.
