And that's that for us. Boy, that was an angry set, at least for me. And of course I lost my picks just before the show, so now I have achey fingers. Which is actually nice, feels like I've earned the hurt.
Taphead has asked me to tell you that another concert of Älymystö's is being streamed tonight live from Riga. I have no other details because Taphead is on a flaky mobile connection.
All right, the tour is over and we are heading for home on the Estonia-Finland ferry, semi sentient and host to a legion of interesting odors.
Thank you for everybody who checked out our feeds and spread the word about them, it was great to see the viewership statistics and hear everybody's comments. We'd also like to apologize for the last stream cutting off suddenly. Against all odds it wasn't due to the stream coming from an illegal Latvian underground club via a mobile internet connection. The fact is that our bassist decided to play to the stereotype and spontaneously slam shut the lid of the streaming laptop, which took quite a while to set up, after the first song. The reason for that was noble, though, since he was afraid his energetic stage show would result in one laptop screen being impaled by the bass neck.
This streaming thing is something we'll do in the future too, when we manage to drag our arses to a worthwhile gig again!
Great! Are you planning to do some more streamed shows? I just found out and it sounds nice. I guess it is easier to do when you're not having live drums (well, I'm guessing you don't have them because your myspace shows no drummer, maybe I'm wrong), but it sounds like something any underground club might be interested in doing and maybe even recording and uploading to a place like Mixcloud if the bands agree. I would be at least in case I had a club!
We're also working on a proper scripted and choreographed (!) video for Ontto seurakunta MMVIII from 19:38:00. The idea came about when a dancer asked if she could do her final exam with that song. We figured why not, but let's do a video, too.
ON THAT NOTE:
The script calls for a golem make-up for her. Any of you talented bastards feel like doing a sketch? Our budget and schedule afford about 4-6 hours for make-up, so we can do quite a bit, but no extra appendages. Getting an inhuman look for her face is what we're especially looking for. The design should work against a dark background.
We're not exactly rock stars, but there's at least credit and some vinyl (limited edition picture disks!) in it for you.
