Currently listening to a song from The Knife's upcoming new album which is an opera about Darwin. And yeah, I mean I love The Knife and probably would think anything they did was amazing, but...this is amazing. The Knife - The Colouring of Pigeons
Goatwhore - Carving Out The Eyes Of God Harvey Milk - Life... The Best Game In Town Brutal Truth - Evolution Through Revolution MGMT - Oracular Spectacular Dethklok - Dethalbum II Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb Kylesa - Static Tensions Feist - Let It Die The Horrors - Primary Colours Every Time I Die - New Junk Aesthetic
@Paul Sizer, But there is a new Nitzer Ebb album titled Industrial Complex. They had physical copies when I opened for them in December and it's on iTunes.
This week I've been listening to
DMG$ + Xrabit - Hello World (Fun, bouncy, dance rap) The Avalanches - Since I Left You (Classic!!!) Photex - Hidden Camera (Classic!!!) A.A. Bondy - When the Devils Loose (amazing album centered on Bondy w/ his acoustic and harmonica) World's End Girlfriend - Air Doll OST (really loving the score here) the Mountain Goats - The Coroners Gambit The Knife - Colouring of Pigeons f/ Mt Sims and Planingtorock (The first "single" they're teasing us with from the Darwin opera that's released in two months.)
All seven minutes of this monster, about three times in a row now, because a) one minute and fifty seconds b) the new order-esque synth that comes in just when you think it's about to go on too long, and c) the fact that it's the same damn verse repeated over and over again to different rhythms and melodies.
Currently trawling through diff end of year/decade lists to see what I missed out on
Future of the left - Travels with myself and another (pissed off as they are probably playing right now in my home town (Melbourne) and I am not there) The pains of being pure at heart Bombay Bicycle Club - I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport Mount Eerie - Wind's Poem The Kill Devil Hills - Man You Should Explode Nick Oliveri - Death Acoustic Them Crooked Vultures (coming to town soon - Fuck yeah)
About time I got more active here and stopped lurking.
@Tacopunch: Thanks for the heads up, and do you have any idea how close I came to hitting that show myself? Something came up at the last minute, but I was seriously almost there to hear them in Chicago.
