    I present to you,
William Shakespeare wrote The Big Lebowski

This could be one of the best things I've ever seen on the net.

...wow. My sides have been splitting by reading this. Thank you.

I'd kill for a stage production of this with the original cast.

Completely lost it at 'I am the Knave, man! Knave in nature as in name!' And again during the conversation with Sir Geoffrey of Lebowski.

    O toe!
Thou wouldst have a toe? A toe can be obtain’d.
Ways are known, Knave. Thou wilt not like to hear.
I’ll have a toe for thee this afternoon
Ere singeth cockerel at three o’clock.
These amateurs would have us soil’d with fear.

    Genius.

    My favourite bit is:

Such a day, I mark thee, whereupon the winter of our discontent is ne’er made glorious summer. A gentleman wiser than myself did say that on some such days, thou exits, pursued by a bear, and on others, the bear exits, pursued by you.

This, live on stage, would be a smash hit in Austin. We even have a Globe theatre replica to stage the performance.

When I've got time I need to read the whole thing. I can damn near quote the film from start to finish (and it seems that all of you can as well) and it's great to see a new twist on it. I'm sat at work giggling my head off while people look on and think I'm insane.

Heh, love it! The Bard Abides, people. The Bard Abides.

I can't help but imagine Jeff Bridges doing The Knave's voice, which is weird.

Hey, how about that, there's a production of this going on in NYC, March 18-April 4.

Yeah, I saw it on the 21st. Fantastically surreal piece of work. Hilarious, even if I didn't have more than a passing familiarity with The Big Lebowski. Also, loved the subtle touch of Walter wearing the armor of a crusader, since he's in camo the whole film.

Love this thing, great execution and all that.

And this guy won my respect for this version of it.
