I got my copy of Heartland by Owen Pallett [Final Fantasy]. Not that it's at all a step up from He Poos Clouds (I loathe typing that), but Pallett's arrangements are getting increasingly complex and less strictly violin loops or just using a quartet-- some fine synths and studio trickery to be found on this one.
Sunset -- Bill Baird's band from Texas -- has moved away from the shoegaze and psych of their earlier albums, and made an alt-country record called Gold Dissolves to Gray. It put me off at first, but it really gets better with a few listens.
Lastly, lo-fi darlings Tonstartssbandht's An When album from last year. Their latest just arrived at the station, and I can't wait to go give it a listen.
Etienne Jaumet -- his new album is out on Domino. Very good electronics.
...that's about it in terms of newer additions to the soundscape.
Television - Adventure TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain Spiritualized - Let it Come Down Passion Pit - Manners (am a total sucker for gimme synth lines) Burial & Four Tet - Moth/Wolf Cub Mt. Kimbie - Maybes Eccentric Soul: Deep City Label (probably my fave from Numero Group's Eccentric Soul series)
@Taphead - Nik Bärtsch's Mobile - Ritual Groove Music I love Nik Bärtsch's Ronin... is this a new (old?) project from him? How do they compare?
@Nigredo - I was inspired by the BBC thing to put on "Orgone Accumulator" (a guilty pleasure)
Meanwhile, a data dump to catch up on the radio front... Nothing really new except the Massive Attack CD-EP, and I just discovered the Dirty Projectors and Alog. In fact, there's a distinct tinge of nostalgia I'm afraid. No doubt an Alaskan midwinter side-effect.

This week? I've been shuffling through: John Fahey's America Mr. Bungle's California and Disco Volante Primus' Antipop and Brown Album Meat Puppets' Golden Lies Led Zeppelin's III and Houses of the Holy Lee Perry's Give Me Power Mountain Goats' Heretic Pride and Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation.
@oldhat yes, totally addicted to the Numero Group. i've got 24 of them... and i see there's more out since the last one i bought! those bastards! i think 'Good God! A Gospel Funk Hymnal' is quite possibly my favourite. The Voices of Conquest = so amazing.
and i'm still listening to George Harrison's 'Wonderwall Music'...
My favourite part in the documentary was the footage from the Ladbroke Grove scene that I'd only read about in Michael Moorcock and Bryan Talbot. Some of the live footage was awesome too.

Necro Deathmort - This Beat is Necrotronic
Great album by a pair of local boys. A combination of Sunn 0))), glitch electronics and Terminal Sound System.
I opened for Pretty Boy Thoreson and the Falling Angels again last night. They have had a bunch of lineup changes (including the departure of their lead guitarist) so they played a bunch of new shit. I'm sure it will grow on me but I was "meh" until they busted out the old stuff.

Mobile seems to be the acoustic incarnation of Ronin that whole minimalist groove thing is still very much present, but no electronic tricks or bass there. Have you seen Ronin live? If you get the chance, go. Zen funk is actually kind of an apt description.
