yesterday i re-discovered one of my favorite records of a few years back, Strangers Die Every Day by THE RED SCARE. i think you might actually be into this record, if not, then you would at least be more into it than the average stuff i jam.
New Xiu Xiu record, ''Dear God I Hate Myself'', is..special. They remind me of being sixteen and battling clinical depression in a way that's sincere and doesn't make me want to vomit. Wisp's ''I Miss You'' is the best IDM record I've heard in a while, and Pantha Du Prince's ''Black Noise'' is sonically brilliant minimal techno.

Is and Always Was by Daniel Johnston; I can't seem to get this album off my frequent rotation list. It's shockingly good. Like, one of the best albums of 2009 good.
No Bird Sing by No Bird Sing; Just picked this up. They're a Twin Cities hip-hop group who use only haunting guitar, drums, and barely any keys. No, it isn't happy music.
The Music Scene by Blockhead; This is an amazing album to listen to while doing something, if anyone knows what I mean. Hardly any vocals, just crescendo-heavy Electronic music with a knack for alienation.
Sex-O-Olympico - Revco Them Crooked Vultures Primary Colours - The Horrors Congregation - Congregation Songs The Lord Taught Me - The Cramps The Best Of Crystal Gayle Torment And Toreros - Marc And The Mambas
Kill! - Electric Six There best stuff is actually post Fire. It seems like most people gave up on them long before their second album. Kill! is their 6th.
Fever Ray Best album of 2009 in my never-humble opinion.
Soisong - xAj3z Only album i heard last year that came close to Fever Ray's blinding brilliance. Still listening to it on a daily basis.
Norwegian band Motorpsycho released their fourteenth album today, "Heavy Metal Fruit". And it's fucking awesome.
I've been listening to a lot of music from Norway lately. I was always under the impression that Norway doesn't have good music, but then I suddenly realized how much of the music I listen to that is actually from here. Motorpsycho, Kings of Convenience, Cloroform, Röyksopp, The Cumshots, Gåte, Seigmen, Thulsa Doom, Zeromancer, Kaizers Orchestra, Major Parkinson and Krakow, not to mention black metal like Taake, Enslaved and immortal. Damn, homeland, I like you a little.
@odaelisabeth: I have recently discovered Animal Alpha and Katzenjammer.
Other than that I have according to last.fm mostly listen to: Andi Almqvist, Tindersticks, The Black Keys, Simian, Spinnerette, Them Crooked Vultures, The Greenhornes and Sweethead.
Bloodgroup - Dry Land Bloody Panda - Summon British Expeditionary Force - chapter one coffinworm - Great Bringer Of Night Windy & Carl - Drawing of Sound RxRy - RxRy Xiu Xiu - Dear God, I Hate Myself Sun Araw - Heavy Deeds
.. and for nostalgia´s sake (i.e - a couple of years ago) i´m trawling through all my old Nu-Rave (ha!) records. the Klaxons, Hadouken! and Does it offend you, yeah? Some of it has aged badly but Klaxons is still good though...
