A little preview of Kemper Norton's present projects.
A new e.p out soon , a hopefully danceable affair about local festivals.
Another based around a Cornish Iron Age fogou. Need intoxicated field recordings from the site in the summer.
And our ill-informed take on hiphop ( thanks to texture's invitation to use and abuse his dextrous words) is in progress. Trying to combine audio material from taphead , Singularity Jones ( Jon Carpenter) , Kemper Norton and texture himself to make it a Whitechapel "posse" affair.
No new music right now, but I feel some projects percolating...
Signed and returned the contract for those filmmakers to use my tune in their movie. Still excited over this. The tune, however, is pretty much unlike everything else I've recorded, so not exactly representational. That, of course, hardly matters.
Video cut up from WKW's "In the Mood for Love" with a track of mine featuring maschinelike's Audrey Koestler on vocals. The track is originally, of course, by Joy Division.
San Francisco Whitechapelers: Brave the wet and icy May (!?) weather and check out my band Brothers Horse throw down at the admittedly ridiculous Battle of the Bands benefit for the Haight/Ashbury Street Faire at the Paradise Lounge tonight (27th May) at 9PM-ish. Standing offer to buy a drink for the first Whitechapeler I actually encounter in MeatSpace.
Just made my first limited run of cassettes. Twelve total. Recording under the name "Segment" this time around. The cassette is a mix of various noise styles.
I am giving them away for free. Each has different, handmade artwork, mostly made from destroyed newspaper, maker and spray paint.. Email me if you want one. I will ship it to you for free. Or send something my way via Pay Pal if you want to throw a few dollars my way.
A few more details here as well as more free high quality mp3s.
coming sometime in Autumn via Seed Records - limited edition double cassette with very limited copies with a minidisc all copies will be hand numbered, unique in regards to packaging and all cassettes will have a different cover.
Figured you loons would want to know that Flaming Tusk has released a digipak CD (that stands for Compact Disc for you kids out there. it uses LASERS.) version of their debut full length Old, Blackened Century. Aquire it from music.flamingtusk.com for nine US dollars, though if any of you Brits or Euros want one (or several) the shipping is kind of murder. The digital download version is still pay-what-you-will.
Me and a friend get together once in a while to make some music. Last night we made this:
It's a 5 song EP, written, recorded and mixed last night, using a guitar, a small circuit bent keyboard and a 4-track cassette recorder. All the songs are about classic arcade games. They're in Portuguese, but aren't very intelligible even for someone who speaks the language - so that shouldn't be a problem.
I've got a couple of them up on SoundCloud (Pac-Man and Contra), for streaming. You can download the whole thing here, or by clicking the pretty picture.
(Yes, that's Billy Mitchell; yes, that's Comic Sans; it's like they were made for each other, isn't it?)
All songs are licensed under an Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike Creative Commons License. Enjoy!
Hi everybody! My band PRESS B TO MELEE has just finished our first full length album! Completely DIY, it is available in the iTunes store, but given shipping costs, you may be able to order a physical copy for cheaper as we're only charging $2 for the cd.
It's Semi-experimental rock with heavy electro presence, and also very groovy breaks! We've got six songs on our myspace to preview and would love some feedback and friendage!
As I've stated before, I am not a musician, but I seem to surrounded by talented folks. I'd like to direct your attention to Mr. Mark Doubleday. He passed up an opportunity to play with the Boise Philharmonic to further his solo career. Here's a link to a personal favorite from Mark, and I'm sure you can find your way to the rest of his stuff. In his free time, Mark writes music on many different instruments and somehow manages to be one of the most sincerely kind people I know. World Traveler He was scheduled to play with Pomplamoose and Goh Nakamura but from what I understand that ended up falling through, which sucks because that would have been a tremendous show. Enjoy!
My day job often involves putting on an afro wig and dancing in music videos for one of our in house bands "Afrocentrixxx" (I direct and edit the videos also)
