I'm sorry if this isn't an appropriate post for this forum... everyone else seems to have gone with a different style of mix.

A few months ago, I staged a trivia game for a bunch of folks. To promote it, I made an audio/video mix that contained plenty of NYC / manhattan references, a bunch of my favorite hip hop and breaks (with a little scratching thrown in by me) and topped off with a some vid clips, mostly from my favorite kung fu movies. It's no 60 minute mix by a real DJ, it's like 2 minutes long in the style of Steinski & Double Dee's The Lessons (in that my mix wass produced using audio tools rather than live (I wish). I've tried to list out everything I bit for the vdieo & audio tracks below. Remember the vid's only like 2 minutes and change, so there's not much of ~~some~~ most of the audio and video listed below.

Jesus, i can't believe it took me 2 years to figure this(and the previous iteration) is one of the best threads on Whitechapel. As a longtime lurker, i thought i had checked out every thread on this beast but, oh no, Whitechapel found a new way to smack my taint with chronically turgid weasel tail just to keep me on my toes. Like, in a really good way.

@Kelcey - I'm currently 5 throbbing minutes into your archeo-repro mix and have found that I don't care if my co workers are annoyed. I love it.

Keep it up. I'm going to trawl through the old thread and see what other magical treasures i might have missed.

@Your Highness: I think my favorite mix was Caveman on Campus, and what rocketed that to the top was the genius mixing of Devil Went Down to Georgia and Winona's Big Brown Beaver, and then RIGHT AFTER THAT we get Queen vs. AC/DC. Every now and then I hear a mashup where I just think "god DAMN, why didn't I think of that?"

After a much longer absence than I anticipated (try a year!!), I'm back on my favourite Whitechapel thread.

Have some dubstep folks! A bit rough round the edges, but now the decks are set up, there's plenty more where this came from!

This mix starts out melodic, but soon gets pretty twisted and dark. There's some local talent on there, in the form of my fellow Edinburgher Akira Kiteshi, and Glasgow's excellent Scotch Bonnet label. Plus a healthy dose of Planet Mu, and some explosive stuff from my current favourites in big-room dubstep, Bar 9 and Reso. Vinyl-wise, I've moved away from atmospheric stuff like Ramadanman and Burial towards a more muscular sound. Hope it meets with your approval.

@microclimate Cheers hahaha. Back in 06' that might have been the case, I was well into the whole hardcore techno drum and bass thing. Been playing a mix of the more minimal stuff, the techy neuro stuff and old 90's techstep lately. Nice one with the Dom and Roland and Photek in the first mix you posted, Dom is probably my favorite dnb producer and Photek is pretty damn close as well.

Uh yes hello if there are any people who visit this thread that listen to mixes OTHER than the dubstep ones, maybe comment too possibly at some point uh I don't know it is a thought

Comments encourage other busy folks to press play and that is good.

If some of you other people are people who work in a cafe or little shop then Vases mixes are a thing you can play, they are maybe not as good as your pandora but won't have concert commercials so that is a plus. Maybe not as cool as your own playlist but won't repeat songs you already play. There is I don't know like 18 22.5 hours of active mix time available on the site. What I am saying is that I design these mixes to be good area music but not repetitive or unrewarding of closer listening either. Megatrip mixes are super great for such uses too if your clientèle will be hip to the vocal interludes.

@texture it's half english donk half japanese donk. A lot of the Japanese speedcore dudes made donk tunes this last year, for some unknown reason they're all amazing. Dr Donk (100% devotion remix) is Shitmat from wrong music. I had a Captain Ahab donk mix that ended up being cut for time.

Frenchbloke, of course you can do no wrong but thanks especially for 'Mississippi', really lovely mix. keeps a balance of tone with great and offbeat licks throughout. and the healthy portion of rousing choruses makes it a lot more engaging than the average roots comps which would feel academic. No doubt you are wondering what’s all this about. In short: a group of dedicated djs who found a new family at DI.fm forums decided to put together a soundtrack for this beautiful 7 hour footage of the famous Bergensbanen line in Norway. There are 13 segments in total with 13 different ideas of a perfect soundtrack. If you enjoyed this video please share it with your friends. Nice mix right there by Photovaltaic (up arrow). Tacopunch, as always, slays shit. And I've been following Megatrip's "Year In The Soul Society" since February. Excellent all around! Thanks Texture for the kind words.

This isn't typical DJ Mix I've got finished here, but it is worth a listen because there is (in my mind) great music on it. There's no turntablism, very little over-lapping, and I'm not tweaking any levels or EQs or hits or anything. The idea was to create a mix of 10 tracks, from 10 albums I think are worth looking into, from the year 2010. For lack of a better name, here's my "Ten-Oh-Ten Mix":
