Ah, Alban Berg. Never let me say that third year music history didn’t teach me anything. I don’t think it taught me how to record sets of cunning post-disco, but here’s this set just the same.
0: Calvin Harris - I Get All The Girls (Acapella) [] 1: Van She - Techno Music (Vemixed) [Modular] 2: Kano - Ike Saya [K7] // Little Boots - Earthquake (Acapella) [] 3: Gossip - Love Long Distance (Fake Blood Remix) [Columbia] 4: Vitalic - Posion Lips [PIAS] 5: Fever Ray - Triangle Walks (Rex The Dog Remix) [Rabid]
After a much longer absence than I anticipated (try a year!!), I'm back on my favourite Whitechapel thread.
Have some dubstep folks! A bit rough round the edges, but now the decks are set up, there's plenty more where this came from!
This mix starts out melodic, but soon gets pretty twisted and dark. There's some local talent on there, in the form of my fellow Edinburgher Akira Kiteshi, and Glasgow's excellent Scotch Bonnet label. Plus a healthy dose of Planet Mu, and some explosive stuff from my current favourites in big-room dubstep, Bar 9 and Reso. Vinyl-wise, I've moved away from atmospheric stuff like Ramadanman and Burial towards a more muscular sound. Hope it meets with your approval.
A downtempo mix of dubstep, IDM and trip-hop, featuring some classics from the MoWax label, plus plenty of new breaks from the likes of Planet Mu and WARP. A headphone mix - skin up, turn on, tune in, chill out.

This is a mix from last year some time. It's drum and bass- hard but not arse-bleeding, sort of tech/neuro rather than anything nastier:

Bother, the mix I meant to upload last time is THIS. It has a couple of tracks in common, but it's shorter, denser, more focussed, possibly a bit harder hitting.
Black Sun Empire - Arrakis John B - Sight Beyond (2004 remix) Skynet - Carbon Shock (Noisia remix) Prode and Art Pathos - Breakage Spor - Aztec Joe Syntax - Her Skin Ink and Gremlinz - Black Star Menacer - Hurtful Motives Gremlinz - Frankie Gunz Siks - Coma Krinjah - Bam Bam remix
So similar, but better. Only half an hour long, too.
Should get around to some more recent stuff at some point.
