It's been a good six or seven months since the last webcomics week. So it's time for the first call of the new year.

You do a webcomic? Tell me about it here. Not more than one or two images, please, or else the thread takes forever to load. Don't forget the bloody link.

Relax. There are only 7000 members of Whitechapel reading, plus god knows how many drop-ins who aren't registered members.

Let's get a sense of who's around, for the start of the year. Create me a big list. And tell your friends.

NOTE: this is not for people to list their favourite webcomics. We've done that before. Boring.

(EDIT, 6 Feb: am going to leave this up for another week or so, while I'm travelling, so people can continue to find fine new things to read.)

I post randomly, my comix at my stomping grounds Electric Transit.

They can be from a comix like Naked Bacon

or complete anthologies of short comix I've done. I post them up to read and sell them as mini-comix in hopes that someone will like them enough to buy. I post irregularly these comix. But I try to get something up once a month atleast. Even if it's just a 2 pager. I'm gonna have coming up my ongoing graphic novel sometime soon. I'm redoing a bunch of pages. But hopefully in the next few months. Along with some other comix I'm working on for anthologies and such.

edit: Oh! I also do work with lots of different people from Whitechapel such as Ginja and Oldhat.

I actually do two. Well, one and a half. One is "MAYHEM & CUDDLES", where the somewhat hilarious but unfortunately all true stories of my fiancee and myself are told in terribly mediocre Sharpie art;

On occasion, I'll also do something I've dubbed "WAFFLES";

I don't necessarily think of myself as a real "webcomics guy", it's more of me basically just learning about making comics beyond just writing scripts.

I've got two webcomics going and both are in desperate need of getting updated. They can both be found here.

I write this one and my partner-in-crime Chris Johnson does all the art. Its about a world in which everyone has some sort of superpower except for one guy. He works as a cook in a go-go bar and is trying to get into cooking school.

Night Life is done by me and has a collection of prose stories that go along with it. I enjoy it. I've had the character for quite a while and am pretty attached to them. I like telling their stories. Its mainly superhero stuff, but the prose pieces have more horror influence. I've been lucky with the prose project that a lot of very talented artists have contributed illustration to it, including our own Crushling. (<3)

We just started a new issue of Invisible, Inc. this month.

And the "What if Carthage had beaten Rome" tale of Citizen X is heating up.

I do two "webcomics". The first one is a daily auto-bio comic titled Screw Jeff Owens, which I just started the fourth year of, and haven't missed a day yet.

I also just compiled the first year in a POD book through Lulu.

The other comic I do is with a friend of mine, Brandon Huigens, who is a bit of a genius for many reasons, not the least of which is the title he came up with, Bong Otter, which sort of dictated what we would do with the comic. We just started this one a few weeks ago, and will be updating at least weekly, alternating who posts. Here's his latest one from it.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's stuff!

I call it that because I asked those same friends for title ideas, and they were all ridiculous and stupid, so I gave them one to remind them why it's a bad idea to push me into creativity. I continue to do Witch Doctor. It is, indeed, a comic you can read for free on the internetica.

Witch Doctor is a horror/medical drama, written by me and drawn by (Russ Manning Award nominee) Lukas Ketner.

It gets called "Dr. Strange meets Dr. House" a lot — your archetypal witty jerk doctor, investigating the real-world biology behind all your favorite monsters. Basically, I take really horrifying stuff from actual biology and medicine, and have a great time figuring out how to graft it onto things like zombies, vampires and faeries. And then Lukas makes them look gorgeous and creepy.

Here's a link to our "pilot episode," which is rough-but-endearing. And here's the more recent story we released right here on Whitechapel.

If you're on the fence about whether to check it out or not, four out of five leading comics professionals agree that you should!

i love this thread, always something new to find.

i guess i can't go by without mentioning i still do plan B, a tale of love, revenge and supervillany. i got a fair bit of love from the whitechapel lot after warren said back in may you might like it if you don't mind swearing, which pretty much sums it up. it's had a redesigned interface since then and i'm halfway through the second storyline.

CARNIVORE CARNIVAL isn't so much a webcomic as a collection of short comics written and drawn by me.

I decided to move my ass and finally put this thing up online, so it starts today (but there's already 14 pages in the buffer so you don't have to worry about updates until almost end of March) and will be updating twice a week, Monday and Thursday.

(umm, don't mind the strange page number at the bottom, I took these pages from the print files I made for kablam and they're already flattened so... oops!)

The tales will range from serious and symbolic stories revolving around religion or gender issues, to simple action comics, to 1-2 page long funnies, thus the genre of choice is fantasy/real life.

The first three comics that will be presented here are also available in print as part of the Moon Jade Angel book 1 (among with over 30 pieces of digital art).

Also available is my 2008 webcomic DIN KRAKATAU.

This also can be bought as Amen City Chronicles: Din Krakatau color edition (a 136 page manga sized TPB).

What's the story about? Well, let's just say it involves a guy who can attack you with his hair, a girl who spawns demon appendages from her right eyesocket, flaming heads, brain stomping, spell bullets, monsters, demons and magical hammers.

There are also plans for another webcomic, this time something longer, but it's still a month or two away from starting so any announcements will be made on my site.

The Glass Urchin is an autobio comic that's all about my real life, love, living in the city, working in a toy company, etc. I did an ongoing story called The New Brunswick Saga for a stint, but for the most part, each page is stand-alone-ish.

I write two webcomics:

The first, Legend of the burrito Blade updates every M/W/F and is the story of gods come to Earth, and how a sense of mythology changes both us and them. It's also about swords with burritos stuck on the end of them. Because these things go together.

The other is Things Wrong With Me which updates T/Th and is a webcomic without art. It's the ongoing story of six friends, living in NY, as told with only dialogue and small heads of each character.

I tend to lurk in Whitechapel but I thought i'd post up about my webcomic:

Little Terrors! Website Twitter
Fitsworth, England. A small commuter town just outside London, not exactly the first place you think of when you hear of epic battles again hordes of undead corpses, Trolls, zombie bears and evil monks.

As unlikely as the setting is our hero, Jonas Milton was a school boy in Fitsworth until we was tragically knocked down walking to school. Cut forward a few weeks and the town is in chaos, colleagues and family members thought dead rise from the grave only to rip their loved ones apart in a lustful hunger. Jonas wakes also but seems to not suffer the hunger or such decay others bodies have suffered. He travels the town trying to figure out whats the cause to all this madness…

The art has evolved greatly in the 4 years I've been doing the comic:

Personal Demons ("Hopeless" book one)
Trapped on an island off the coast of Maine, the people of Hopeless find life a little darker and more dangerous with every day that passes. The number of orphans rises continually, but who can say what happens to their parents? Plenty of the bodies are never found. This is not the stuff of happy, careless childhoods, it is instead fertile ground for personal demons. In Hopeless, the demons are not always abstract concepts. Some of them have very real teeth, and very real horns.

Our island has been isolated for a long time. Partly because of being small, and forgotten. Partly because of the rocks and currents which do not encourage visitors. Hopeless is also surrounded by fog, overrun with nightmarish creatures, (from small things with tentacles to demons and vampires) it’s a peculiar place. Here, almost anything can happen, from the weird and unsettling to the darkly funny. With a cast of freaks, nutters and the odd power crazed psychopath, life in Hopeless is seldom dull.

The second is UNcubed, an auto-bio strip focusing on what it was like for me growing up as an Indian kid in the US, and now dealing with the idea of being a husband and father.

The first time I ever promoted my webcomic was in the first of these threads last summer. And I've been going strong since. (Thanks for doing this, Warren!)

I'm currently 37 pages into my graphic novel, Nathan Sorry. A new page is posted weekly. It's about a hapless investment analyst who should have been in the World Trade Center on 9/11 but instead has disappeared, changed his identity and run off with an inadvertently stolen $20 million. While biding his time in a small town in the south his shaky plans begin to fall apart when he gets a little too involved with a couple of women in town who are looking for an escape of their own.

My name is Tovias and I am the cartoonist for "Reality Amuck" updating Mon-Wed-Fri. It's a quasi-slice of life comic focusing on four Generation X guys discussing pop-culture, politics, movies and life.

Mine isn't exactly a webcomic as it's destined to be printed, but it's posted online, so... The title is Malaak, Angel of Peace and this is Lebanon's first and only comic series. It's a Lebanese-style superhero story: a young woman is sent by the guardians of the land to figure out why the country is locked in endless war. As she struggles to remember who she is and what she can do, she discovers Jinn are responsible for the conflict and that somehow they are now able to enter the human world freely. We follow her as she unravels this mystery, gathers friends and allies, joins forces with the local Citizen Defense Brigade, and takes the fight into the new territory of the Dream plane where Jinn are said to originate. This in the context of Beirut, and drawing heavily on my own experience of growing up in war (as well as my obsessive practice of martial arts).

I do the webcomic Azure on Zudacomics: A post-apocalyptic scifi romp with lasers, ladies, and lush underwater environments. There are also androids, sharks & sea creatures, pirates (though probably not the kind you're thinking), and giant 6-legged robotic sentinels. The story unfolds through the eyes of the heroine Emelie. Currently Azure is enjoying it's second season on Zuda. Sample:

Wow - some great work showing up this time around! Always a cool thread, Warren!

I've just begun posting Everybody Lies over at Drunk Duck. It's a different sort of comic book. I've called it "A Slice-of-Life Cautionary Tale For Grown-ups" and tagged it "Sex, Lies and Betrayal" to give you some idea of what it's about.

No capes, no heroes. Just people, living and messing up their lives. Spike & Angela and Dave & Margie are a couple of normal couples, with the usual insecurities, foibles and vices. But when their everyday lies begin escalating, their lives spiral out of control...

With artist Niki Smith, I write In Maps & Legends, a weekly webcomic starting soon (March-ish) at Zuda Comics. Here's the first page:

A quick overview: Kaitlin Grayson doesn't know why she gets up in the middle of the night to carve a map onto the wall of the spare room of her apartment. Before she can finish it, though, a strange man named Bartamus shows up at her place in the middle of a wintry night, claiming to be from another, dying world that desperately needs Kait’s help.

Hi, it's me again, the time walker from another plane come down to your world to infest it with seemingly pointless idiosyncracies.

Haven't done any new comics pages since the last time I did one of these threads, unless you count the 17,550 new ones I posted from the Swap Universe using this flipbook-like technology, called YouTube. You see it moves through all those pages automatically for you. With audio! So you really don't need to even think about it. Blew my mind, a little. And I haven't even added the captions, yet.

Other than that I don't have any new webisodes or actual issues, still just Issue #1, but I do have this JPEGamabob that's from a slightly different part of Issue #1 than the last one I posted, and that makes all the difference...

Thanks again, Warren, you're the best! Even if you do turn out to be the antichrist in 12.35% of all possible worlds.

My name is Trevor, and I work on two webcomics on my website: http://www.trevoramueller.com

The first is a sci-fi / samurai story called The Temple of a Thousand Tears, current on it's third prequel story arc focusing on the assassin Marielle. Written by Trevor Mueller, Art by Olivia Kasle.

The other comic that I do is called @$$hole!, which changes format regularly. The current story arc is a fumetti comic about the horrors of online dating. Written, drawn, and photos by Trevor Mueller.

Here goes nothing:

I am the sole and lonely author of a webcomic Seclusion Inn which I recently restarted for a better quality of both writing and art and more sarcasm.
Seclusion Inn is a mystery set in fantasy setting, from the old tradition of stories where people are stuck in a, well, seclusion with a murderer. It is intended for mature audiences because I will not hesitate to show some nudity, sex, violence and alcohol use. Foul language may also appear. Main character is female because we seriously need more strong female leads.

Hello, Warren. Thanks for the opportunity to share my comic.

My comic is called Theater Hopper. It's a web comic about movies that I update every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It has a gag-a-day format with some longer story lines mixed in. Kind of like Penny Arcade for movies (if you'll pardon the cheap comparison). I try to keep it very topical. Basically, I look to what is most recently in theaters and make fun of it!

Here's a recent sample of my work. A couple of strips about the last Twilight movie from the male perspective. They were pretty popular among my readers:

It's good to see so many webcomics peeps I know posting on here, as well as unfamiliar talents.

And, Christ, believe it or not, I'm STILL doing THE UTOPIAN, which was once upon a time updated twice weekly but now is once weekly as I'm working on like 8 million other projects.

It started as the story of James Douglas, a frustrated high school senior who decides to change things up by adopting the identity of "The Utopian" and attempting to upturn the status quo at his high school. Since then, he may or may not have been sent on a mission from God. Yeah, you're pretty much just going to have to read it from the start at www.theutopiancomic.com, but here are a few samples:

Man, I still haven't read all the comics from the LAST time Ellis asked about our comics.

My mythic fantasy webcomic, The Water Phoenix King, has recently escaped the shackles of DrunkDuck and migrated to a grown-up URL. You can find it here.

The Water Phoenix King is a kind of reconstruction of the fantasy genre, an attempt to appreciate the trappings and tropes of a good fantasy story while still being aware of the nature and history of the genre. It also has feline assassins who are always on fire, so that's pretty cool.

I write a weekly updated webcomic with artist Andrew Sides called BORDER CROSSINGS.

BORDER CROSSINGS is a dark marine fantasy where a salvage submarine’s strange crew must redefine freedom for their drowned world. Here are two page examples

If you prefer comparisons it’s Firefly, Labyrinth and Perdido Street Station in a nautical steampunk mash-up. The story is also an allegory for the modern era of globalization.

Venetia Toco falls through a portal to another world in a surfing accident. The place she ends up in is mostly oceanic, with only one remaining island. Strong economic disparity exists between the intelligent marine races and the remaining “air-breathers.” These different ethnicities have one thing in common: they all fetishize artifacts from Earth. Why? Because anything from Earth (bullets, chunks of wood, even human beings) can invoke special powers from ancient symbols called graphemes. Before the undead border patrol can capture her, a cuttlefish-shaped salvage submarine named The Rhizome retrieves Venetia. She joins the ship’s crew of odd displaced beings, led by the provocative radical Captain M.P. Skulker.

This summer, I launched my character-driven, science-fiction comic November Shift (and posted about it in the last one of these threads, in case you saw it there and want to catch up!) The general premise is that seven students at the Goddard School of Astronautical Engineering aboard Strongwater Station in the year 2118 are tied together by their assignment to the November (or N) Shift for scavenging duty. Scavenging is a brand of work-study job wherein students retrieve and catalog space junk for the dual purpose of recycling precious metals and equipment as well as decluttering the low Earth orbit environment, which is becoming dangerously congested with debris.

If you like your science fiction with a healthy servings of character drama, technology based in current science, theory, and idea, and semi-realism, November Shift is right up your alley (((:

Hey, folks! Been checking out some really great webcomics here. Here's mine. I'm Pam Harrison, would-be novelist turned 3D comic illustrator, creator of the award-winning graphic novel series House of the Muses. My series won the Prism Comics Press Grant award last year for outstanding series. I may not be the best 3D illustrator out there, but the top compliments I get are the realism and depth of my writing, as well as the historical detail. As many have posted already, I'm also a cartoonist that does two webcomics. The first one is a once a week strip about technology, web design and other stuff related to the web. I have been doing that strip for well over five years now. You can read it every Wednesday at Community MX. Here is last Wednesday's strip:

The other strip I do is just a little over two years old and is updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It's called Capes & Babes and centers around a strip mall, a comic book shop and one crazy werewolf. It also features cute vampire chicks, Hollywood Zombies, an Alien obsessed with hip-hop culture and a bunch of other stuff. The main charcater, Marc, has a video podcast studio set up in the back of the comic book shop where he occasionally interviews super heroes, villains and creators. here is today's strip:

This couldn't come at a better time. I've just Reclaimed My Webcomic from my incompetent artist and set it on a new course. Feeling excited for the future.

Basically it's going to be a series of short stories, tangentially connected, about a 'Lost Civilisation' realising that they can no longer occupy the same doomed city for much longer and, as a united community, emigrating to London. So, basically Nick Griffin's worst nightmare except filtered through the Fantastic by the way of the Uncanny and the Marvellous (why yes, I am a Literature student).

Art Geek Zoo is a music fantasy adventure that centers around a penguin (Pick Wingvey) and his mystical guitar friend (Crunchy). I do two comics at my site Remedial Comics and we are about to launch a third.

The first one is actually on hiatus while I retool the characters into 3D so I can start doing animation with them. It is called Remedy and even though it's on a break there's plenty int he archive to read.

And the other comic is one I draw myself (I only write and animate Remedy) called Badly Written/Badly Drawn which is a one shot gag, whatever crosses my mind strip. Here is one from a couple weeks ago.

Hi! I'm Gardner, one-quarter of the brain trust behind Registered Weapon, the webcomic about a robotic cash register who solves murders. We update every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and we just celebrated our first year online. So far FELIX (the cash register) and Frank (his partner) have solved two cases, and the third one is wrapping up this week. Figured it out. It hates my Domain forwarding/masking. So here we go again.
I do Shattered Myth a Thrice-Weekly story based humor webcomic starring a girl, a geek and some Gods. I'm sitting at about 10 months and 150 + strips so I while I feel like I've been working on it forever, I'm just getting started.

My name's Alex de Campi. Christine Larsen and I produce a wireless comic called Valentine. It looks a little like this:

It's a monthly fantasy/thriller with 70-75 screens per episode, available for iPhone, Android phone, eReader and Kindle. In a couple weeks there will be a web version, too - just waiting on some tech gubbins. We make it available in 14 languages (with the kind assistance of Whitechapel regulars such as Felipe Sobreiro).

We have great fun writing it in classic pulp style, with compressed storytelling and big cliffhangers at the end of each episode. The first three episodes are out, and Episode 04 comes out on 17 February. Things get really crazy from Episode 04.

You can read the entire Episode 01 for free in English at our website, or indeed download it for free for any device in any of our 14 languages.

I also write about producing wireless comics over at BleedingCool, basically chronicling my mistakes so you won't have to make them.

Hi, I'm Deirdre. Here's my weekly webcomic Wasted Epiphanies. Updates Thursdays. It's about... (deep breath)... polar bear temps, black holes in language, mysterious hovering artifacts, racing snails, festival dawns, selfish genes, the kitsch of the future, a caveman who dreams of aeroplanes, roleplaying gods and lonely aliens, what your cells are thinking, and why spaceships make me cry. And whatever else is making my head asplode. It's mostly one-off strips, but there are a few recurring characters - like Tempin' Bear, scraping a living in crappy office jobs since his ice floe melted. Humans are weird, and lack of opposable thumbs is the least of his problems.

These panels are from 'Cultural Observer', a strip for everyone who ever longed for the mothership to come and get them.

Last year I produced 2 comics with the insanely talented artist John Keogh of the awesome (+ late & lamented?) webcomic LUCID TV, but of course now he's off doing his OWN THING working with the fine folks at TOPATOCO, so he has no time for doodles based on my scribbles, and he never comes home, he won't call or even watch the kids anymore... *ahem* Sorry, where was I?

Hi Folks - If you're looking for some horror in your webcomics reading, I've got the comic for you: Split Lip.

I created Split Lip in 2006 and we've been publishing stories there ever since - for a total of 27 stories and over 300 pages of free horror comics. I write the stories and they're drawn by artists from around the world. We update every Sunday.

The most recent story is "Beyond the Campfire Light," a story about a pair of friends encountering horror on a camping trip. But is the horror natural, supernatural, or something much closer to home? "Beyond the Campfire Light" was written by me and drawn by Jason Ho.

I'm Michel Fiffe and I do a comic called "ZEGAS" over on Act-i-vate. The first "issue" is a self contained story, 27 screens worth. More stories to come.

Boston and Emily Zegas live in the middle of nowhere. Yes, they're related. Brother and sister, as a matter of fact. They're young, too. Oh, and pretty broke. They make ends meet, though, so don't worry about them too much. They're too busy to notice the candy colored dreamlike land they call "home". Stop on by anyway & bring some cheese, beer, & a Yacht Rock mix tape while you're at it.

Magic City is my webcomic. I created the concept back in 2007, wrote a bunch of short stories, and wrangled up some artists to draw them for me. For free, no less. So Magic City is an anthology series based in my hometown of Billings, Montana, U.S.A. Each story is different, a different genre, theme, tone, except that every story takes place, or is connected to, Billings (a.k.a. the Magic City).

Right now, I'm wrangling up some more artists, gearing up for more comics in the next month or so. It's a little difficult to keep things on schedule, but when I have comics ready, I update every Tuesday and Thursday with one new page from the current story. I've worked with a ton of artists around the world from Italy to Norway to Brazil to California with more to come! (Always looking for new artists to work with, btw.)

So enough exposition; here's a couple pages from two separate stories. First page is from "Be Careful What You Wish For..." with art by Hushicho (Tennessee, U.S.A.) and the second page is from "Sacrifice Cliff" with art by Giorgio Iannotti (Italy). I hope this will entice you to read more!

I run NinjaPancakes.com, an arts & entertainment site home to many silly things. Among them are silly cartoons I make for "electronic flipbooks", such as the above cartoon. Means it plays like a slideshow.

My cartoons are a bit odd. Weird characters like the above purple gargoyle/gremlin/lizard thing, as well a man-eating carrot, romantic zombies, overly-enthusiastic robots, and more. And they all tend to do rather mean things to the androgynous stick-figure dude.

HUZZAH!! is an ongoing Webcomic collective, we have two webcomics currently on the go; HUZZAH!! Vengeance of Voldar, which is Space Opera, and HUZZAH!!NOIR which is a hardboiled, Noir comic in black and white. The original HUZZAH!! ran from Jan to Dec last year and can be found here.

HUZZAH!! is a game of consequences (an Exquisite Corpse) played out by comic creators who each have three days to contribute to the ongoing story.

Life Among the Unmotivated

It's about exactly what the title says. A group of friends live through boredom and apathy. Features trans issues, GLBT issues, comic books, and retail. I write it, and the art is by Carla Wyzgala (who is fantastic). I do the lettering, and I'm slowly getting better.

Well, since I want to get in before the thread ends...

I've just started serializing my new comic at my new website Dimes For Nickels.

On the downside: When I said new, I wasn't kidding. It just started today, you just saw the entire archive.

On the upside: Hey! You can get in on the ground floor of a new comic. And when/if it becomes more popular than John Lennon, you can scoff at noobs.

It's a win-win situation for everyone.

The prologue will run daily through Thursday, updating at midnight, Japan time. Then next week it runs Tuesday and Thursday until it can't.

I do hope you find it good enough to revisit.

I am kinda overwhelmed by the quantity AND the quality of stuff here! Even though I was thinking of myself as an avid reader of comics on the web, there is so much good stuff here I never ever even heard of! No way am I going to able to check all of these out, but at least I feel richer now. Even though, simultaneously, I feel like my contribution will be lost amidst the buzz... Heh, sigh, well, here goes.

Weave is a comic Manda (the artist) and me (the story.. ist) are making because it's the kind of comic we would love to read. Check it out, here's a smattering of sample pages:

I do a webcomic called "Tales of the 8th Grade Nothing".

Incorporating music with almost every comic strip through the eyes of the lead protagonist, Tales of the 8th Grade Nothing is half-romance, half-coming-of-age-story, as Jason Dobbins unravels his final year of Middle School trying to win the love of "The Curly Little Blonde Hair Girl" and be popular. Tales of the 8th Grade Nothing is a webcomic that doesn't follow the norm of the format either. (It's set up as a general comic 'strip' but intentionally does not try to set up a punchline 99.9% of the time.

Just amazing. So, I'm going to have to dive into this thread, as ever, right after my rehearsal tonight. Thanks for all the great reading material.

My webcomic is called Milo the Cloud, and I'm actually taking the week off to put the finishing touches on a small print run version for C2E2. If anybody's going to be there and wants to grab a drink after one of those nights, drop me a line. I'll be in the webcomics pavilion all three days with a table.

I've been posting a long term project off and on, on LiveJournal but wanted to set up a better presentation of that - add to that i've wanted to add comics to my comics news blog for a while and i give you the new comics section of Sequential, featuring Dream Life. I've just built this, and right now for this week there's a new page each day - If you've seen Dream Life on LJ the new site will catch up with where I've last posted up till soon, and the plan is to have a new page a week once i do.

Oh man It's not eve close to February anymore so I hope its Not horrible form to post our webcomic in this thread. My Friend Adam(who also posts on this forum) and I make two webcomics that both come out twice a week at our website Floodworks.

Light Years Away is an on-going science fiction story. Here is a recent page from that:

And we also do a comic strip called Fat Baby, which is a surreal splintered tale of a fat child and his doomed parents.
