As a side project (like I need much more shit to do) I run a Tumblr blog called The Anything Machine Project. I have a core group of sites I check regularly to get new material, but I need a lot more. A LOT more.

The whole idea behind Anything Machine is to fill it with material (links, videos, quotes, whatever) that emphasize positive creativity. Basically cool shit, without snark or snide comments. I made it as a kneejerk response to my entire Netvibes page being full of people complaining/reporting on bad shit/being dicks.

So! Help me out please. I've asked a few folks for new sites, but they say the obvious ones: Boing Boing, Wired, etc. Plus, I'm sure more folks then just me are interested in these types of sites and you all probably have just bookmark after bookmark after bookmark...

Any and all recommendations welcome. Go!

w0rd.ca is a group blog which is pretty much exactly what you're looking for.

Some more info... here's my list so far:

    Dezeen
    BLDGBLOG
    Infranet
    Warren
    Coilhouse
    Jean Snow
    Wired Science
    Nature
    Science
    Make
    Drawn
    MagCulture
    w0rd.ca
    Boing Boing

I'm on the hunt for more like Jean Snow's. I like how it's geographically focused and something a little more personal than say Wired or Drawn even.

For the geographically focused towards San Francisco (although not particularly about San Francisco), Laughing Squid is a good place for the gentle madness and curiosities one can find here in the city....

I am a BIG fan of Michael Shirley's blog MY FUTURE ME . I get excited every time it pops up on my feed.

I enjoy reading JWZ's livejournal. Jamie worked on the original Netscape browser, and now runs the DNA nightclub in San Francisco. He might not be as positive as the rest of the links there, but he's interesting.

Dunno if it's up your alley, but my site Weaponizer is full of interesting and creative folk doing Epic Shit, including many Whitechapelers. Don't let the gun-related name put you off, it's all creative writing, lots of SF, horror and thrillers, and a bunch of weird stuff. Launching comics soon.

    RSS'd here.

I'll drop some recommendations of blogs I read as well, don't have time just now.
