The image of the throw is going bugger your bandwidth... 1.3MB ! PNG is not so good for images with lots of detail.
Dammit, why does the store have to be in the USA... not worth getting a travel mug.. the cost for it to travel here will be prohibitive (ironic..) -

Tech failure week indeed. My funky ergonomic vertical mouse died so I've had to dig out an old carpal-tunnel-syndrome-inducing Microsoft one. Then at work the Belarusian mafia (or at least someone in Belarus) decided to launch a DDOS attack against one of the sites we host, bringing down the entire server. Cue three days of ignoring all other clients, getting a new server online and moving the targeted site over to it. God knows what kind of grudge the Belarusian Mafia had against a small army surplus store, but there you go. -

Bah. This week has been communication fail among people I work with, largely powered by the oversized egos that only come with diva-tastic actors. Why to women get the rap of being divas? I regularly find the actors that give the most shit and are so sure about their endless importance to a production are male.
It's been good to be needed. Just also fizzucking stressful, between dodging dramafests and juggling 1001 technical issues. I barely get sleep and it often takes me an hour of shaking before I can drift off. And *tomorrow* we start tech with a pair of 12-hour days.
The director asked if we wanted to start late and end late or start early and leave early on Sunday so we could spend the day with our sweeties. I completely blanked on what the heck she was talking about. Maybe it's sad that I'm single, but good God, if I were in a relationship it would probably be about to end!
Maybe it's audio tech fail week, Ariana. Two different headphones broke so I can either listen to my MP3 player through my right ear or my left, but not both. And I have zero monies for fixing this. (and no time anyway) -

Tech fail is why I'm posting this on Saturday, rather than Friday. The screen on my laptop is now dead... I don't even know why. I'm borrowing a computer, only to find it was a skipweek anyway. My weekend just got that much worse... Ariana, why is it sunny outside NOW? Why couldn't it have been sunny when things were not falling apart, and pouring down rain now? It would be way more appropriate. -
Ariana? You want a matte gray ipod shuffle 2nd Gen? Do you need the dock as well? I can reset it to factory settings if you want. Or you can mock my music ... no strings attached. I don't use it anymore.

Heh. That also happened to me once. On a Sunday, of all days, when all the stores were closed... Anyway, I was supposed to go somewhere and I didn't want to be listening on a single earphone, so I had a rather odd, but effective idea - I rummaged through the electrical odds and ends box I have at home, got hold of an audio splitter (one audio jack on one end and two audio jack inputs at the other end) and plugged in both sets of earphones. I taped the wires together at several points with electrical tape, cut the defective earphones off (from both pairs) and ended up with a mutant pair of earbud phones which I ended up using for the rest of the month, because I kept forgetting to buy new ones... -

I was going to recommend a Sansa mp3 player but it seems the quality of their products has gone down in the past couple of years, according to user reviews on Amazon. I had an e280 a few years ago and it was great: small size, good price, microSD card for expansion, battery lasted a long time, you're not locked into using iTunes or any other software, etc.
But, yeah, there are quite a few reviews for the newer ones where people complain about software glitches, random powering on and off, etc. It may still be worth investigating though. Good luck! -
I was actually ready for a skip week. No tech failure this week, mostly because my life is very very very low tech. However. My already moody back hates shelving books and that's what I'm back to as my supercool librarian temp hours have been cut and might go away forever. So. Much. Hate.
Also, as my other FA mug was stolen shamelessly, the travel mug w/ handle is looking mighty shiny happy, but not in contrast to the bank account. I hope that someone else buys several and has much happy because of them!

Here's one question: Will Volume Four be six or seven issues long? Normally Volume Four would have six issues and end at episode 96. I was just wondering if there'd be an extra four episodes to wind things up at episode 100 (effectively "issue" 25) instead.
