Busy, busy, broken broadband. Bah. Girlfriend has to leave town tomorrow if it's not fixed, come back when it's OK again. Episode: Pow! Big reveal! Glowy, smarmy god-people!
Great ep. Now wondering if all those people Arkady saw as she levelled up were the other FA or... whoever created the package. (Probably the former, considering where they were - but the actual nature of the package could use a little more revelation!)
Not a bad week - except for a fox taking one of our chickens a couple of days ago. Joys of trying to be more sustainable in urban environment.
I'm thinking the package may be a hive mind/collective mind on a subconscious level.
I like this theory, and what it suggests - that the linking of human consciousnesses into a hivemind has implicit 'levelling up' implications for cognitive and extra-sensory ability. To me, that's an eminently believable 'package' or upgrade, whether the package was designed / evolved by the FAs themselves or an outside agency.
Also, I genuinely thought 'Kady had been shot or hit and killed. I kind of went:
"'KADY! NOOOOOO!"
And everyone at my work stared at me like some kind of freak. So thanks for that! And thanks for not killing her!
First thought was - I'm so glad that they talked Arkady into wearing some pants underneath her skirt earlier on! Second thought was, oh how cheesy, a bright light to signify a near-death experience, HOWEVER it wasn't that at all - she somehow tapped directly into the shared sub-conscious of the Freakangels. But who was instructing her? Who else is that aware? My third thought was - Hooray! I do love a good episode of Quantum Leap!
I'm great thanks Ariana. Apart from someone I know dropping dead last week (in his early 40s no less..!). Going to see Solomon Kane tonight. Goth club tomorrow. Boss is away for 2 weeks so am ordering clothes online right now. And will start reading NANA manga after watching the anime and live-action films.
Ohh, very interesting! Sign me up to the hivemind theory. I'm curious to see what Kady's levelled up to now. And ahahaha, Luke. No, everyone loves you. Like they love getting syphilis.
I'm not bad. Been answering enquiries through twitter (I am in ur twitters, answering ur enquiries. Thank fvck for ambient searching.) this morning, which almost instantly gives me numbers to use for future justification of social media and/or web 2.0 in the library. Score! And then this evening, it will be beer o'clock with a bunch of my former law librarians-in-arms.
events both bad and good this week. my arthritis has gotten so bad because of this horrible weather that I'm having trouble sleeping. I tried taking an ibuprofen, but it made my stomach upset so I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it other than just be a tired, achy crabby bitch about it.
I am getting close to finishing my painting, Blue Horse. I'm painting it in paints that belonged to a friend of mine that was murdered last year. Blue was his favorite color, so I'm dedicating it, and my subsequent paintings in blue to him. After fighting with a stupid accountant, and constant jack assery with the government, we finally got our tax refund in. I got a bed. it is awesome.
After waking up this morning, pissed off because I hadn't been asleep since about three this morning, I got a little bit of good news. A really cute ginger headed girl keeps asking me to come to her parties, and tonight I'm going to take her up on that if nothing goes wrong. I've got a bit of home made wine to take as a party favor. I bottled it a few months back and it turned out pretty well. Also, Tomarrow night, i'm going to go see my awesome friend Dave Fultz in My Bloody Wedding. at the Derby City Film Festival in Louisville. I am excited. Dave is such a great guy and a very very funny man. He was also one of my best customers back in my comic shop ownin' days (hopefully i'll be doing that again before the end of the summer if everything goes well); he and I share a love for batman.
OOOOOO. Nice episode this week. I can't wait to see what Arkady can do now!
0086: so things are somewhat resolved and Alice is still alive ( ! ) A strange touch, though, in Arkady's resurgence. Who are those guys? Is this a secret club composed of only 12 members? Does this explain why there aren't any Little FreakAngels?
Ohhh. Lurverly episode. Those underwater scenes must take a lot to get right. Wunnerful.
Glad to see the back of the Great Decompression Experiment; this was a very fine episode. All sorts of questions arise - not least of which is the very curious setting for Arkady's unconscious moment. Very odd. Lots going on.
I was uncomfortable with the writing at "what's that sound...like wingbeats". I have no idea why; secret hidden disorder, presumably.
Got a letter from the doctor this week suggesting a head scan needed just to check there is no "sinister pathology". You have to love that phrase.
Good Morning and Happy Friday, Ariana. Welcome home, WE.
Page four panel one oh man oh man oh man, that hit me like I walked into a wake. Wow. Funereal creep out. The crumbling stones, the shopping cart, the lifelessness of Arkady, just... Jesus. Awesome.
And the bottom of page five? Yes, there are twelve figures. Yes, some of the outlines match. And yes, it could be the watchtower... so why does my spider sense scream fake out???
Late to the day job this morning! All is tense! Broken! BROKE! On edge! HOPELESS! The stupid online serial free thing had a total 1 visitor yesterday, 0 the day before! Ah... all is well.
