    Pick no more than three.

This search string alone gives you lots of places to look for them. There's also the store at, if you need another resource for covers. Also, there's google, haha.

But seriously. This might be interesting. I'm presuming there are still some people who read comics here.

Ooo. I'll try. Of course I'm thinking art. If I were to choose purely on design, my choices would probably differ.

    Olivier Coipel; Thor

And assuming that doesn't count as all 3.

    JH Williams; Detective

Although it's not the most brilliant cover, it's Travis, and therefore better than most anything else.

I don't read floppies as much as I should, but these trade/gn covers were OMGZ!:

    niklas asker, second thoughts
    Niklas Asker - Second Thoughts

    - Subtle. But draws you in for a second read. Also, sums up the book perfectly.

    Asterios Polyp - David Mazzucchelli

-Beautiful. I could look at this all day.

Ah, Unwritten and Detective Comics were used :(
This is a difficult choice, today I picked up these, tomorrow I think I'm going to chance them.

I'm writing a text about Niko and this cover is so awesome I want a poster of it.

I don't follow 2000AD but when I was looking for covers, I found this one which is too good to miss.

No 3rd cover. Can't decide over a few.

    Crossed #5

    Predator #2

No Hero #4 Wraparound but I can't find a good pic of it in full.

Fun thread is fun! Great picks so far. I'm gonna go with these since I haven't seen them here yet. But yeah, JH Williams pwned 2009 with his Batwoman covers ^_^

All simple covers, but they all got me excited for the issues.

Daughter is sick - I was tired - didn't even see the 2009 in the title. Here's my three then - I'm sorry for making a goof -
    smartest cover I seen
Technically - not a comic book - but this was intriguing ...

Well most of my favourite covers are already up here (Invincible Iron Man #21, Northlanders #17, Scalped #30), but a couple more took my eye last tear...

2000AD #1633 - This cover and the story "Cradlegrave", actually made me start reading 2000AD again after many years.

Captain Britain & MI-13 #12 - This was a variant cover to mark the 35th Anniversary of Wolverine. I just really like this style, so different to what you usually get from covers.

    Deadpool - Merc with a mouth #3 - Need i say anymore?

I’m guessing the copyright issues would make it impossible, but it would be great if someone ran an annual coffee-table book of the best covers.

(All Madame Xanadu covers, really)(Ditto all Dream Hunters covers)Ditto.

The covers for all these series were great--these are just random examples

I'm going to have to echo the praise for the Batwoman Detective Comics covers and also the Unwritten covers. But in the interests of diversity...

Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep 2A
I've loved this adaptation so far, and the range of cover art has been a highlight.

    Fables 82
    Simple and powerful.

And as and honourable mention, I'd say the three-part cover over X-Men Legacy 220/221/222. Can't find a pic online of the three stitched together but they look great layed out next to each other.
