First of all, the level of brilliance and talent in this thread is absurd. I'll try to keep up with this recurring new feature, but I can only hope to one day reach this level of design skill and artistic excellence. Warren, the Cover Remodel was a great idea.
My fellow Zuda mate Felipe Sobreiro was showing off his submission to this little remake project on Twitter and I just had to make one. So, I joined the site and here's my first post and submission. This was a lot of fun flexing my design muscles a bit.
@Art Grafunkel, @Sizer, @Sobreiro, @helloMuller: I love what you are doing with your vector graphics, guys. I can't pick a favorite, but there's already a book or two in here that I'd buy just for the look of It's cover.
Hi There, Im a fairly new member and love the online reading:D Finished all today so will need to wait for the weeklys:( In my unfathomable boredom i decided to exercise my artistic side as this sounded interesting... Heres a rough idea(sorry had no pencil so its done in pen:D)
Sorry dont know how to get the pic to show on this page???
I'm also a newbie and nobody has said anything about my picture. I'm very upset :( (Well, no, I'm really not, but anyway, any comment will be welcome :) )
As far as I'm concerned, I must say that I really love the covers done by Art, Paul or Sobreiro. I also like Muller's cover even if it's very scary (maybe because of that) but my favorite one has been painted by jamesmith3. That's a really pretty cover. I don't now why you think is predictable at all even if it could seem more classic, like mine.
@rickiep00h: I sense a watchmen inspiration? @Andre: Why this tribal look? @DocJ021: I love the wild west idea. :)
@Jsm - Sort of. More the idea that super-men aren't necessarily all they're cracked up to be... or worse. Which probably comes from reading too much Ellis. I think Chris G's Manhattan-esque blue dude ingrained itself in my head, too.
ETA: Also, the second tag line is what really popped into my head, so I was trying to figure out way to say it visually. Ended up being a little cliche for my liking, but I got a Kubrick ref in, so that made me happy.
