Not just the incredible artwork, but also Warren's new slant on R/R. You guys have made an otherwise stressful week bearable with your enviable skills.
Holy crap! I didn't think it was possible after some of the stunning work submitted early in the week, but this thread just keeps getting better and better!
@nanageddon: Love the typography--Did you design the SUPERMAN letters from scratch? Also, cool color variants. I particularly like the fact that the second one has a kind of 80's color scheme, but still looks modern and fresh. Excellent work!
@all--if I commented on all the masterpieces in here, this post would be about 40 paragraphs long. You're all teh awesome, and Warren Ellis deserves a medal for managing to assemble so much talent in one place. Can't wait so see the remaining entries this week, and am eagerly anticipating whatever Mr. Ellis has in store for us next week. I hope everybody can continue to come out and play!
@DBed - Bravo! Extra points for bringing some tiny floating shrunken heads to the upper left corner of his cover. Why didn't I think of that? @CarlGlover - I love It as It is, but I can't wait to see the finished version. @Deantrippe - Bring the superheroes! Nice one. @nanageddon - Beautiful. I'm not sure why, but the pink one works better for me.
@everybody else - Fantastic thread. This one has been a lot of fun. Also, hello to all the new people around.
@Musehick? I like. Be interesting to see you retool the 2001-ish spacebaby as the "S" symbol and then re-introduce the double bar dollar symbol. Sweet image. Everybody makes me feel rather inadequate.
@JSM there's a performing troupe who perform in blueface - called the Blue Man Group.
thanks for the kind words. there are some amazing and diverse works on this thread, I'll definitely be sticking around for future challenges. @oogliemooglie - yes I made the type myself, I had a couple of letters from a logo that i recently designed and expanded from them
I swear that I saw the title, drew up a Nietzsche reference, then looked to see it was like the first thing posted. Beat to the punch, but I'll get something in next time. I like this exercise.
