Can't hold a candle to some of ya'll, but I have to say, this is the most fun I've had designing since college. Probably the first time since that I've stayed up designing until after 2 in the morning for the hell of it too. Thanks for even briefly shaking me out of cube hell.
@Wings - I'm so glad someone went there - In some of my original sketches I was going toward a historical feel, but couldn't quite pull it off. Love it!
Add my thanks to the thread and Warren for letting this monster fly so high this week. Again, you never know when you'll get the best out of people, but the perfect storm that occurred this week on this thread is staggering. And better, that this community exists to foster it when it does all come together. We are part of something really vital and dangerous and special here, and the kick to the ass that I receive here is vital to me growing as a creator and artist.
Thanks to all for bringing it. Hard and well. Now gird up for the next one.
Gotta say, there have been some amazing contributions to this round of R/R, so a tip of the hat to everyone who posted. It's hard to single out any one entry as being more amazing than another (because there are some AMAZING entries), but for the LOL Award, I had to give a special shout-out to Rooth for the Celtic Superman which was just brilliant.
@Berzerker -haha! See, the Celtic Superman idea immediately jumped into my mind after reading Warren guidelines: (the BLUE would be handled by the Wode tattoos, RED 'S" could be a big scar) ..but I thought my idea was really dumb (even if the character looked cool), and I didn't know how I would work the required TEXT component into the concept- it didn't match up in my mind: an ancient warrior character type matched with sort of (modern) text language... but thankfully, I had a Spinal Tap record playing in the background, and, well... ;)
