I got introduced to FreakAngels through a friend who shares my Ellis-love. It has been one of the things i look forward to the most every weekend. I think the things that keeps my interest is my constant wondering about who just did what and how. Love the power usage and new ideas Ellis always comes up with. I am the kind of guy who follows writers before artist, but that doenst mean I dont love the work Duffield does!
as for weather....I live in Northwest Florida, and it is cold. Bright and Sunny, but cold.
Love the weather images. I don't know a thing about illustrating, but I'll bet it's not easy to get that sense of depth from the rain shots. Nice work. The sunlight coming through the clouds seems almost ominous. I don't know why I got that sense, but I did.
@Anscealai - speaking of sunlight, one of the most beautiful images I've ever seen was while driving along a small road in Co. Clare. I came around a bend and to my left was a lake with a castle or a tower of some sort across the way. Grasses and reeds stuck out of the water near the shore, the wind bending them and kicking the water up all across the lake, clouds streaming by overhead, the sun giving everything a golden tone. It was amazing. I was trying to find that lake just two days ago on google, as I didn't stop to take a picture and I was trying to describe it to my wife. Lough Bunny? Maybe. I don't know. One of the most stunning images residing in my memory banks.
Woke up bleary eyed. Checked warrenellis.com, (Ariana, I like your Captain Swing cover design!) and then went to the forum, and then typed in freakangels.com cause I kept on sending myself to whitechapel instead cos I am sleepy and not a morning person like some strange people.
I enjoyed the ep, and the sun/rain thing. :) I swear we've had that weather here before. RAINRAINRAIN "woaa pretty sunlight" *steps outside* *WOOOOSHRAINFROMHELLL!* "damnit".
I love the way you draw light, Paul (and the team of ninja colorists). Love it.
Some more support for the Death = LEVEL UP theory. Can the FA die at all? Before it's their time, that is... Also, Kait takes control of the situation like the cop she is. Nicely done.
I love that cloud effect, if it was just drawn in you'd say it was too cheesy, but when it's so photographic it just seems natural.
The plus-zero temperatures in the GTA are ushering in the spring cleaning nesting urge and pushing out the seasonal depression. I am deeply excited for sunny days.
Oh Lord, Paul, just beautiful. Simply marvelous. And nicely done, Warren, keeping the edge of tension going while still feeding us more information. Nommy tasty bits (get it?!?!?) Does sound like the package might work to protect itself. And Kait is living up to badass cop...which makes me a little nervous with Alice over there living up to reckless outlaw. *bites a lip*
March so far has been...numb. Very little to show for it. Going to try to fix that today. At least a little.
Page 4, second panel - is that a digital manipulation or is it all hand painted? I really loved that panel. =) Has Carl (He's on the garden roof right?) been able to avoid the rain like that all this time?
I love Kait and her no nonsense attitude as Mark starts to monologue. XD Kait won't be taken in by his charm, oh no. =)
I'm a little unclear on Alice's position at this point. Is she in front of Luke behind a glass doorway or is she physically behind Luke but being reflected in the glass doorway? It's a little hard to tell right now.
