    Like some others this is also photo manipulation, but is took a lot longer than two minutes. If this isn't enough then I accept deletion like a humble, obsolete drone.

    It takes a retrofuture approach, being inspired by how I imagined the year 2000 was going to be when I was about 9 years old. Dot matrix printers on antigravity boards. The logo is dots, but that can also be subtracted space from a band of colour, or parts of an image for fill, diecut out of the cover to reveal the first page, or what ever.

    @Fernando Lucas okay. Now I think I shouldn't have bothered
    @Alberto Ditto
    @Audley Strange I really like your logo, it really grips the page solidly and then hits you in the face with it. When I did mine I thought: what would I be drawn to buy if I was in WHSmith's? Actually, I'd probably buy yours.

    There are so many extremely praiseworthy posts on this thread!

    @LeighWoosey. Thank you very much, you might like to know that I was originally going to use Dare's Spacefleet logo rather than the mekon, which I see you yourself have captured well.

    @Warrenellis. May I suggest the Beano, Topper or Heavy Metal? Go on...

    @robb

    ...

    !!!!!!!

    [swoon]

    You and Berserker are tied for my very favorite covers. Very very favorite.

    Which reminds me:

    @berseker,

    See above. Only instead of the illustratey envy swooning that was applied to robb, you get massive comic envy swooning.

    wow, just trucked through all 16 pages at once.
    Now, I'm speaking as a strictly amateur non-participatory observer, but IS this the best R/R yet?
    I think so, maybe just cause I always loved the AD.
    The quality and diversity of the entries is phenomenal. Just amazing, congrats to all. SO many funny and original takes on it.
    Don't want to go through them all but @agnosticator's cover is my personal favourite I think, kinda chilling actually. Though who doesn't have a soft spot for a T-Rex with prosthetic chain guns?
    @Mister Andersen's is just elegant as all hell.
    @256's is properly demented - love it.
    @Fernando Lucas's is slick and striking and delicious.
    @KevLevell's looks disturbingly authentic :P I'm starting to wonder if maybe Danni Dare isn't the future...
    @Berserker - hush now, cover is ZARJAZ! No more insurance-buying or a Rigellian Hotshot loaded with eels is bound to find its way to you.
    It's cool to see so many new folks turning up with god-like drawing skills to keep the regulars on their toes ;)

    @ robb: I want to have your art baby.

    ****Edited to add more praise****

    Seriously, not to gush or anything, but I didn't realize I liked mustard yellow quite this much. And what is that? A pinwheel motif? Insane.

    I love that no one really referenced this - Chris Weston's Dan Dare. I know I was tempted.

    Waited until today to fully absorb the entire thread, so it feels like I've taken many, many little uppers, and all at once.

    Absolutely stunning work, Everyone. Doesn't seem right to single people out for extra praise at this point, others have already said so much I agree with that I'd only be echoing their already eloquent words. Basically: You all know you're damn good, yeah?

    Tharg himself would be proud of the effort here.

    Awaiting the next Cover Remodel with anticipation.

    @warrenellis says
    You're all going to have much more fun with the next one. Which goes up tomorrow night.

    And laughs maniacally.

    You people do realize that Warren's idea of fun, and ours may be quite different? Don't you?

    thanks dorkmuffin and sseloske.

    > And what is that? A pinwheel motif?
    swiped from an origami tessellation

    Warren gets bonus points forever because this one had the word dinosaur in it.
    What can I say, I'm easily amused.

    Somehow not getting the hang of uploading the pictures. A lot of work for a lousy in flight-cocktail napkin drawing!
