oh man - I'm so excited to see this film, I'm really, REALLY looking forward to it!... but... every piece of production art I've seen so far is superior to that poster! This is something I've seen with so many films! Great movie, great ideas, but somehow when the theatrical poster hits it's like it was designed to be as bland and uninteresting as possible.

Iron Sky has things like this:

    iron sky

    Or this:

    iron sky

    Or this:

    iron sky

    Or this:

    iron sky

    Or dozens and dozens more...

    Why then, lead with this???:

    iron sky

(I boggle out of love! I want this movie to succeed! This poster is the most middle-of-the-road, unevocative, trivial image I've seen come out of this production. I know it's a comedy. This poster makes it look like a lame comedy! :( /end sadface )

I am really looking forward to this.
But I do have to agree with oddbill on this, the poster doesn't do justice to what we've been seeing all this time.

I agree with all of that, it looks pretty awesome, the kind of movie I need in my life.

Bloody hell Vorn, this film looks great. I am excited to see it, and hope it does great. Putting a request in around here to get it played and sending out info to like minded peers.

Yeah,I find the production art brilliant and prefer it to the poster. But i'm not exactly the average citizen and i can see it getting the attention of more people, especially teenagers. And they do go to the cinema more than me.

Anyway;wicked,Vornaskotti!I hope it's a success and i look forward to seeing it :)

@Vorn-I know of a cinema festival that is perfect for Iron Sky. It's focused on fantasy and sci-fi and while they have no room for Iron Sky this year, they are probably interested for next year's edition. If you're interested email me at diogomsc at the gmails.

Talking of film festivals this would be really good at Leeds Film Festival, specifically the Fanomenon programme http://www.leedsfilm.com/films/programmes/fanomenon/
(Not just because it's only up the road so would give me an excellent chance to see Iron Sky) The film festival has a tie in with Though Bubble Comic Festival. Last year they showed Captured Ghosts and Talking With Gods.

Boffo congrats Vorn - I think I'd be following this over on Twitch since the first teaser...can't wait to see it (hopefully on the big screen in the States!)

Cheers people :) I'm actually not working for Iron Sky anymore, from since three weeks ago or so - my work there was done so I moved to other adventures. That said, having been involved in the project at least peripherally from right since the beginning and the director being one of my best mates I'm still mucho involved with the project :) These festivals do sound interesting, and it would be best if you could e-mail about them to merja äh blindspot dot fi - she's the person in the production company who handles the festival stuff. Say hello from Janos if you e-mail.

About the poster - well, in the end there's a need to pull people into the theaters and there's a need for one poster that can be used everywhere. I would've personally preferred a weirder and edgier poster, but then again meh - I'm an artist, not a money man :)

    Does Kermode know it's done?

Methinks he'd organize a festival just to get it screened.

Congrats to all involved! I too can't wait to see it.

...and here's the official theatrical trailer of Iron Sky. Three days 'till the premiere in Berlinale, the tickets sold out in two hours and Iron Sky is the second best seller in Berlinale already, past Werner Herzog's and Angelina Jolie's new films...

Sharing and distributing the trailer will really help the project, there are still a few dodgy regions the movie needs to buy distribution rights - like United States - and the more views this trailer gets, the better lever it is for bargaining. Here's the message about it from the project.

Oh, btw, the film got sold out in a couple of hours in Berlinale and it's the second most popular film in there this year :P

    @Vornaskotti

The trailer has been popping up all over my Facebook feed, been trying to pimp as appropriate.
