    I may have to give them some money at some point this week... I'm wandering around trying to find somewhere to stay over the weekend anyway, so I will go one evening if I manage that :-)

    Okay, they finally buckled. This is a bit bittersweet since the damage is already done - but hey, at least the people get to see it properly :)

    Iron Sky distributor bends due to huge fan demand – extends cinema run in the UK!

    Also:

    They owe us a considerable sum of money – most of the Minimum Guarantee, which they should have paid already. We could prevent them from screening the film, but we won’t do that, because that wouldn’t be cool for the audience.

    We wanted to let you know this because it’s an issue that’s bugging us, and we may need to act on it at one point, but so far we will hope they’ll respect their part of the agreement soon.

    ...and laughed solidly for most of the last third of the flick.

    I described it as the smartest and prettiest dumb B movie in ages.

    Did you notice that Götz Otto was one of the campaign staff that was banished in the room in that scene, doing a spoof of himself in Downfall ;)

    Revolver were selling it on DVD and Blu-Ray at the MCM expo today in London. Seemed to be doing a brisk trade.

    As film plots go, comedy Iron Sky is a headline-grabber: in 1945 the Nazis went to the Moon. In 2018, they are coming back to invade Earth. No wonder since its first screening at the Berlin Film Festival, it has caused both comment and controversy.

    Watched it the other night via Virgin ppv, absolutely loved it. It had a proper B-movie feel in terms of the dialogue - some really wince-inducing lines, but I loved every single one. The pop culture references were backgrounded and subtle, which I guess was my biggest fear, that it would end up being a pointless gag-a-thon like the terrible 'Meet the Spartans' type of movies that pass for comedy these days. Not saying the comedy in iron Sky was subtle - far from it - but it was way smarter and more timeless than most Hollywood flicks. The visual effects were absolutely stunning, and
    the moment where the plot hinges on the Nazis writing speeches for the Palin character
    was actually incredibly clever and believeable. It made me sit up and think, something I really wasn't expecting. I do think you cpould have made several different kinds of film using these VFX and this premise, but I was abaolutely happy with the film that was made. I will definitely watch it again. The most coherent, polished, satisfying B-movie I've seen in years. Bravo! The soundtrack was also brilliant.
