Ok, I know I've posted about this a couple times in the MagCloud section but I thought I'd get it out into the world with its own thread.

I've been working for the last couple months on this (and future) issue(s) of my magazine about post-zombie apocalypse society. The first issue came out yesterday and includes five (count 'em, 5) short stories by three authors, one of them being me (2 stories). I can't say much about mine, I always hate my own stuff and feel like an asshole praising myself, but the other two authors are awesome. And the cover came out better than I could've hoped.

The first issue is basically world building and meeting characters. I don't want to post anything too fictiony here, so read a bit more at the official blog: http://lifeafterdeath-comp.blogspot.com/

If this sounds interesting, please buy a copy, they're pretty cheap, as I'm not adding any markup for the first issue and MagCloud is running a 25% off deal until Sunday (the 21st).

    Clicky-clicky for purchase making:

(Just look at that sexy cover)

I'm also in the process of looking for art for the next issue and I know a ton of you are incredibly talented artistically, so please, please, please let me know if you are interested.

I'm also always trying to improve, so comments/questions/etc are always welcome.

Oh, and I'm in the process of making a few related shirts on Zazzle...just cuz I'll probably want one. Does anyone know how to unhide shirts that I want to be publicly viewable in my store? Apparently it's not the 'unhide' button, so that was nice of them.

Respond here or email me at steevo83 [at] gmail [dot] com or lifeafterdeathmag [at] gmail [dot] com. I check the steevo one more often though.

    Hey all,

We're having a contest, hoooraay. This is going to be a contest for the cover of the next issue of Life After Death and I do believe that the winner will win $50 plus copies of the first two issues. 4 second prize winners will be published in the mag and get free copies of the second issue. This contest will be going on until April 15 and at that time the winner will be chosen by myself and my two co-authors.

There will be three choices of scenes that we're looking for, which I will post later...you know, when I have them. But I just wanted to gauge interest on WC. Good idea? Bad idea? Will people enter? I should have the three options by tomorrow at the latest.

I also wanted to check on permission for short descriptive sentences for people to draw/photgraph/art their submissions based off of. Something like, 'A dog being kicked through field goal uprights, much to the amusement of the referee.' But you know...having to do with the mag. If you (Warren/Ariana) have a problem with me doing that, let me know and I'll post them on the blog and link from there. Wasn't sure if that would go against the 'don't post your brain droppings in language form here' rule.

Also, I've changed the Description on the Magcloud site from the horrible, crappy placeholder that I had before (and had forgotten to change when I published) to something that actually describes the stories in the magazine a bit.

Go check it out, links to the blog and the Magcloud site, just scroll up.

Thanks so much for the sticky Warren, and I hope to hell that I get a few submissions from the in-friggin-sanely talented artists here! I'll be around these parts to answer any questions anyone has, obviously, so sound off.

Yeah, we're still doing this. Here's the cover for volume 2 by a good friend of mine and awesome artist, Morgan Goldin. Should be out in or around the next several days.

Update time! This project has gone to internet only, but we've put out 11 new stories since last time I posted anything about it here, so I figured I'd plug.

As we like to hear ourselves talk, we did an interview which is posted on the blog now . It's a bit long and sometimes slightly rambling, but it's still cool to listen to (for me at least). I've also just started a Twitter account.

Shit, we don't know if this stuff is any good, but it's been fun to work on. More coming soon for anyone interested.
