Is anyone here taking part in Script Frenzy this year? This'll be my first year, hoping to do better than I did with Nanowrimo last year!

Hell yeah! I didn't know that was a thing, so thanks for the heads up. I did Nanowrimo a few years ago and had a good time, and I've been having some script ideas. Perfect timing, and looking over the page is getting me buzzed about starting some research before I dig in!

Signed up last week, username Fauxhammer.

I did some proof-of-concept scripting last week, and it looks like I can do four pages an hour.

    I got this.

I don't know.... I have plenty of scripts sitting around already, haha (for about a 1000 pages total but it's all longer projects that I can't tackle yet).
I could try coming up with a variant though as I'll be needing short comics for my webcomic soon. Maybe 100 pages of script with thumbnails? That is, not 100 pages of text as measured by whatever software, but enough script for 100 pages of finished art (with thumbnails or perhaps even page breakdowns).

Also, my nano went smoothly, novel was about 75-80k words... and is still being proofread by a friend, haha.

I just had too much going on at the same time during Nanowrimo, but I should have plenty of time for this.
I haven't written a script before, I mostly write short stories, but I've been wanting to work on a graphic novel or something for a while.
My username is Ashflex on the site, by the way.

Decided it is time to get off my ass and give this a shot. I've got a high-concept idea sitting around in the back of my head that needs somebody visual - an artist, a director, somebody - to put flesh on those bones. If I never do it, I'll just bitch about it for the rest of my life.

Jumped in as Meaninglessnoise. Gonna give it a go.
Tried (and failed to complete) Nano this year, but I've had a couple script ideas floating around as well.
I'm still prodding the unfinished Nano novel, but I'm sure I can make time for this.

I'm still debating on whether I'll give this a go. I do NaNoWriMo every year, but for some reason have never given ScriptFrenzy a shake. Which is odd, as I love reading movie scripts, and I like writing...

In any case, if I do join the fray, I'll be bbedlam (same as my Nano name).

What makes it seem very doable is the fact that you only have to write about 3.5 pages per day. That's not too hard, once you get going, especially if you have a starting point in mind. When I did nano I did end up taking some days off (even the dreaded more than one in a row...), but I had written more than the minimum amount (1500 wds a day, I think...) right out of the gate, so the padding helped. I'm not sure if I want to sign up on the Script Frenzy site, but I'm still definitely going to participate by working on a script.

I have a couple of projects in mind, if I do this or not depends on what my calendar ends up like.

Would love to do this but, along with the usual (surmountable) NaNo problems - don't know what to write, don't know how to write it - next month is going to be really heavy for me academically. Maybe next year.

Anyway, good luck to all White Chapel entrants.

Call me thick, but what's the point? From what I can glean, there seems to be no real difference between Script Frenzy and setting the same 30day-100page rule as a self imposed parameter. I'm not denying that it's an excellent exercise, but maybe I've missed something...

Is there more to it? Help me out.

It becomes a thing that I do. I am fine with this.

    Good luck to all!

    @NickDonald

Having a goal like this that you can share with others is important to some people, it becomes a motivating factor. It's like all those fitness apps for the iPhone that broadcast what workouts and such you've done: they don't help you get more fit, and you certainly don't have to use them, but some people find that it helps them meet their goals if they know others are watching/reading about it.

Fair enough. As I said, it's an excellent exercise and I may yet jump on board... as long as I don't have to get an iPhone or fitness. Ever.

Good luck to all who have already signed up.

I've never participated in this or NaNo. Can other people read the scripts once they're uploaded?

I am no kind of writer, and am agonizing in my pre-writing to try and develop some kind of story or coherent plot.

Which is why I'm doing this. AFTER THIS MONTH, MAY I HOPEFULLY SUCK LESS.

I'm under CrusherVic. Dear God I hope I can finish this.
