@256 : favorite so far, if just for the most Futura approach to such a messy concept like romance. @Nanageddon : beauty @Raid71, FredG, Alberto: great
Wish I had time to make something this week. So long R/R, till whenever you come back, it's been a blast. I hope everyone starts flooding the artsists' thread after Sunday, keep up this quality work.
Nice works, very funny the youg romance by vicky van, I really like the works of Alberto and fernando lucas, very interestting Grafunkel `s work. For me it were a very intense week, I will not be capable of make my own young romance. ´m sure next time i will.
I found this really hard to do. Firstly I imagine who would really buy a magazine called 'Young Romance'. It sounded like something only hipsters would do, with some kind of extreme cod irony. So I tried to imagine a magazine that didn't know if it was taking it seriously or not and go for the deliberate naffness I see around hipster culture (if there is such a thing). Not sure I got their even after loads of fiddling. I'm sure this magazine would have lots of 'experimental' typography inside and be the twenty-year-old editor's pride and joy.
Then I tried a different tack: what if this really was going to go out there- a magazine for young readers (10-14?) that featured (chaste but educational) love stories. Well Teens usually want something that looks kinda grown up, but also need something they can identify as 'for them'. So a fusion of and straight type and playful colours it is, then. I'm much happier with this, and it took about a quarter of the time.
