So im a few weeks now into this, wanted to start a thread to let this crowd know what i was up to, get some feedback and post updates, but was not sure if it's cool to post something here? Right section? I assume keeping it contained to a thread is the rule.

So for a long time I've been working on this story, it's taken a while to get going to say the least, only had to overcome a dyslexics phobia of writing and lean how to. But I've got a pretty significant lead on myself and it's live now. Posting twice a week till TCAF, hope to have a print edition of the first chapter in B&W there to offer, at this point going to be a by the seat of my pants deal but i think I've got everything in place, just need to do a few more pages and scrounge together the funds. But in any case you'll be able to read it online today, least what's been posted so far. The back cover reads...

Dream Life is the story of five friends, Charlie, Lionel, Lucy, PJ, and Dan.
Each coming to terms with lives unplanned; in danger of going off the rails, or peter paned.

A biker named Garry Greenberg, a big blue tarpaulin wrapped box,
a dog and a red head with no hair will force them each to choose a new path.

Part coming of age, part pulp crime novel, part odd to Charles Schultz.

Page #14 went live this morning, the story is still in what is a very long opening dream sequence, short on text but lots to 'read' now. Also been blogging along side the posts if you want more words with you're pictures. I liked coloring this one, very pleased with this bit.

So that's it, hope you all enjoy, tell the kids, all that. Would appreciate feedback of course too!

Edit: So along the line Dream Life joined the TXcomics collective, and is posted there now - in the mean time i have kept the site i started going and re-branded it after my old printed anthology project, RevolveR, as a home for other projects,

Thanks Jeff. This is my hope as well, think if i can get the first chapter all done and up online finally it will help sell itself that way. But that's not going to happen for TCAF and having something of this in print for that was a personal goal this year, so by hook or by crook.

@Jeff Owens: about 60 pages in act 1. There's some shuffling as i go, one of the liberties of being the only man on deck and publishing myself, but for now that's the number, and each subsequent act is about the same as well, there are 9 acts in all.

Posted the last page in the big dream sequence Saturday, next page Charlie wakes up. Also added suggested listening to this first scene, links on the cover page blog post {bellow the art} now. There are another 10 pages loaded in the magazine too, bigger lead on a publication date than I've had in years :)

Okay, this opening is a brilliant juxaposition and I doubt I'll see something like it for a long time. Top marks.
Now on to some guy sleeping!

Classic zoom into face dream scene change is a bit weak after such a nice opening, nevermind.

What do burning trees generally signify, I'm sure I've seen that myself. Hmph. I don't like the dialog about not "noticing her before" mainly because whenever I dream no one I see (person or near-person) comes as a shock, be it out of nowhere sex or coming across a gaggle of zombies. Maybe that's just me?

I do not trust liquid mercury hover-scooters.

Ah, now this is very dream like. Without words it is convayed perfectly that he has suddenly noticed how bullshit a hovering scooter given by a mountain monster is. Que gravity. I'm not fond of that arm flapping panel, I just don't think that particular motion trick should be used any more. Just me that.

Monocrome colouring after the dream ends gives a very "we are back in Kansas now" vibe, anti-Oz. The next few pages are all very basic and well, I don't know what you could loose or gain, if anything. I've also just realised this whole comic could be silent up until page 28 and wouldn't loose anything.

I have no idea where we are going but I will be riding this thought-bus from now on. Cheers.

Yeah, liquid mercury hover-scooters from mountain monster should never be trusted, not at all better than a nice spruce branch :)

Nice to know you're thinking about it all, won't be explaining any here but sometimes i mumble in the black out text about what's going on a little [blacked out so you don't have to read it, but you can if you like.] page 22 has some notes about the color/B&W stuff.

With act 2 Dream Life will stop being posted on RevolveR, and i'll use that to put up short stories i'm working on, and some old stuff from the original RevolveR. Same twice weekly schedule as Dream Life.

Hey all. Several bits of news and updates to make here.

First all of the pages in this thread that linked to the old Revolver site, go now to a bounce page. Take note of what you clicked and you will be able to find your way - it's all up still but at new homes. Dream Life at the TX site, the rest at the new Revolver site.

Also, not to side track things from the comic too much, but i recently was diagnosed with testicular cancer. The good news is, some follow up is needed but this diagnosis was post op, and the operation looks to have a high likelihood of also being the cure in my case. they got it early! I get into as much detail as i'm likely to in public here on my home page blog.

So, on to comics!

How ya been? I've been busy, doing shows like TCAF always take it out of me.

Takes a while to get back into the routine and catch up. I warmed up by rebuilding my home web page, like the new look. Really converted to WP in a big way [have five sites working on the platform now] and i'm loving the themes from graphpaperpress.com [this is one with a few small mods and so is this and this]. I've installed wpStoreCart, working on building one now, wondering what kind of things to sell? Would love to have some feed back from you all. I've got posters and some books to start, anyone interested in that? What other sort of things would you be interested in?

The newest edition of Carte Blanche is up - I'm the graphic fiction editor there. For lucky #13 we are happy to present a special feature on CRISIS. There’s a lot of great stuff in the issue, including two excellent graphic fictions stories by some heavy hitters.

From the Eisner Award–winning creator of ‘Too Much Coffee Man’,
Shannon Wheeler, a classic gag comic, ‘Oil Spill’.

And from James Romberger, of ‘Seven Miles A Second’, ’2020 Visions’,
‘Bronx Kill’, and ‘Aaron and Ahmed’, we are very proud to present

We had many other excellent submissions we couldn’t accept,
