So Sirkka has no problems with using that big ass gatling gun on the roof of her building, and she's been willing to use violence in the past, but she has problems with Jack having a gun stashed in her house? Did Jack break some promise to Sirkka we haven't read about yet?

As for my week, I seem to be trying to prove to myself how little sleep I need to get through the week. It's good for the productivity, but a pain on actually having a life. Then again, over the past week I finally saw FANTASTIC MR. FOX and THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO in the theaters, so I can't crab that much.

But my week was generally spent alternately hoping and worrying that my elected representatives in Washington wouldn't wimp out or fuck up health insurance reform even in the face of Teabagger terrorism. There's a difference between a huge gun that's mounted to the roof, thus going nowhere fast, and four guns hidden in her house where anyone could stumble upon them. It wasn't that long ago that I was that young, the sun and the grass. It's always good to remind everyone that the bad guys aren't really evil. Makes me wonder where my friends and I are going to end up ten years down the line, after afternoons in the sun on the grass drinking and talking about how we'd like to change the world.

Maybe the part that struck me the most in the art was simply that their young versions really do look like teenage versions of themselves, not just smaller versions of their adult selves. As someone else said, all arms and legs and either mildly chubby or stick-like thin.

I don't know about this particular character, but "Arkady" is a name given to either a man or a woman. I've known two women with that name (ahr-KAY-dee), one of whom had actually been christened "Arcadia". Brilliant work, managed to maintain the same fierce emotion of the last few episodes while frozen in time!

The 2nd page, with Marc alone on the grass was so perfect. I almost felt motion from the shot.

Personally, I think Connor looks better with the shorter hair. I believe when he was hunted and now here in this episode he was shown with short hair.
Much more ascetically pleasing look for him I think.

Ok then, rather nervous of the kaboom. But it wouldn't be an action packed FA episode if there wasn't something disquieting about it. Just as I pulled up the first page I was thinking, I wonder what would happen if the ring 'Kady brought to encircle Mark powered up and then the power was grasped by Mark. that would be bad for everyone, no? Well the flashback was a delight. Any little droplet of backstory is hugely welcome. And it works amazingly, beautifully well to see Mark the most idealistic. When idealists fall they fall motherfucking HARD.

There was a week? I'm sure I did some stuff. But I think it mostly came down to sleeping. finally done with my play so I need to think of my next Bold Move. I worked a tiny bit. Wrote a tinier bit. Cleaned a little, walked a little, argued with some people (mainly, person), and lined up work for myself that I desperately don't want to do but should so I can stop feeling like a huge fucking failure. @Indigo Rose--I haven't read the original THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, so I can't say how faithful the adaptation is to the book. But I will tell you it's a workmanlike but entertaining adaptation that mainly keeps the story focussed on the investigation of Harriet Vanger's disappearance. There are side bits involving Lisbeth's personal problems and it doesn't shy away from depicting her bisexuality. The film would probably get an R for its depiction of sexual violence. Noomi Rapace does an amazing job playing Lisbeth, but then she might not be others' imagined version of the character. BTW, I'd suggest you catch the foreign original. My guess is the threatened Hollywood adaptation will probably remove or neuter the leftist politics, pretty up and de-punk Lisbeth, and make her more emotionally dependent on Mikael.
