If that's "fat" Connor, I'm a beluga whale.

Connor had some body-image issues, yes.

It took me a second pass and a close eye to actually find where Paul had drawn the fat--it's there, but mostly hidden by Connor's clothes and my assumptions. Looking at his neck and jaw are what revealed it to me. Mark offers wonderful contrast for this.

I guess Arkady's skimpy clothing style has a long precedent. That's a very small skirt.

(As always, great episode, compliments all around.)

I am curious if 'cider' is a generic term for alcoholic beverages, or is it specific to actual cider?

I am also glad to know our favorite heroes (and villains...and betweens) enjoy 'spliffs'!!

Hasn't some recent research into anorexia proved that those with anorexia are likely to have some kind of deficiency which means that they cannot view themselves in real proportions - something screws with their vision/mind and makes them look fatter than they actually are. Maybe it's the same in Connor's case and he cannot rationalise.

(Apologies for the bad explanation and hope you understood what I meant. I'm not a scientific person!)

Sweet Tapdancing Christ, Ellis. Very moving.

He looks so relaxed, laying there...the boy who will fucking save us all. There's no one so dangerous as someone who knows what YOU need to live a worry-free life.

Oh, and my week...for the first time in a month...was full of possibilities and promise, instead of the impending end of my world.

    I agree with @rickiep00h:
Content-wise: Damn you, Ellis! Daaaaaaamn yooooou!

Very nicely populated with just enough. Warren, you are a master of your craft.
Paul and team... you guys are exploding with talent and abilities and are truly becoming journeyman. Yes, the walls and the youngsters are very, very good.
Ariana, sounds like you are well. That is a good thing. This world without its 'mechanic' is truly sunk.

My world became crap again and I am in another waiting game. After a good MRi two weeks ago, last weeks Pet Scan reveled a spot in my lungs. Waiting six weeks for rescan and biopsy. May be metastasizing. As always, just waiting seems to be my calling. Guess that's why I love Warren's cliff hanger endings.

fuck! that was gut-wrenching and heartbreaking.

between this episode and last, a fellow freakangeler and I were discussing his desire to see more of them as younger kids, growing up and whatnot. how bittersweet, sandwiched between the potential Ultimate Destruction of Mark!

I don't believe I've made this assertion before, so now I will finally say: this is my favorite 6 pages so far.

Man. . . . that is so going to stick with me all day.

So mark got what he had coming so did luke, and I think it's going to rip the angels apart.

An odd thought comes to me the midwitch cuckoos wasn't their talk of more then one group of strange kids, and like the Russians carpet bombed a town or something? I wonder who those shadows that talked to kardy are?

Cider is cider. It is made of apples.

Great episode, though I'm frustrated not to get to see Mark turned inside out. Exploding walls are great, but I need to see the body before I go crazy! Wonder what's next after Mark dies... civil war? War with another group of 'Angels? Kait coming after Alice and Jack for killing Luke? And Kirk and Karl for trying to murder Mark? Can't wait to see :). As to the flashback, I assume them "helping" is what get them hunted in the first place. Oh, speaking of flashbacks, are we ever going to see what happened the 6 years between the world ending and now? A lot is mentioned about it, but I'd love to see them adjusting to the new world and coming to Whitechapel.

Ah, what a wonderful manga/animesque installment. A touching and literally pastoral moment in the midst of big 'splodey.

Mark at 14 reminds me of some political activists I know. 'Kady wins the week's kawaii award.

So Sirkka has no problems with using that big ass gatling gun on the roof of her building, and she's been willing to use violence in the past, but she has problems with Jack having a gun stashed in her house? Did Jack break some promise to Sirkka we haven't read about yet?

As for my week, I seem to be trying to prove to myself how little sleep I need to get through the week. It's good for the productivity, but a pain on actually having a life. Then again, over the past week I finally saw FANTASTIC MR. FOX and THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO in the theaters, so I can't crab that much.

But my week was generally spent alternately hoping and worrying that my elected representatives in Washington wouldn't wimp out or fuck up health insurance reform even in the face of Teabagger terrorism. I'm glad that with last night's final House vote, that didn't happen.

    That was surprisingly refreshing.

Oh, I don't know if I'm right here, but at the bottom of page 4 should there be a hint of Arkadys leg/hip/something? Or maybe she moved.

Very nice. In other hands, handled a little differently, that could have been too much... well done. Quite touching.

@Miranda's Eyes - Sirkka may feel justified in being angry with Jack. There's a difference between a huge gun that's mounted to the roof, thus going nowhere fast, and four guns hidden in her house where anyone could stumble upon them. Between the potential for accidents and the fact that she's trying to build a place without hostility, she may bit a bit protective of that space and "her people". Also, off topic for a second, hoping to see Girl with the Dragon Tattoo soon, hope it was a decent adaptation of the book, but I'm not sure what kind of a rating it would get (were it not a foreign film) if it had in it all that the book does.

Ok so Connor= Robert Smith and Mark= Daman Albarn (at least on the wallpaper image) is this intentional? Or is my brain broken?

Definitely an aaaaaw moment. It wasn't that long ago that I was that young, the sun and the grass. It's always good to remind everyone that the bad guys aren't really evil. Makes me wonder where my friends and I are going to end up ten years down the line, after afternoons in the sun on the grass drinking and talking about how we'd like to change the world.

Maybe the part that struck me the most in the art was simply that their young versions really do look like teenage versions of themselves, not just smaller versions of their adult selves. As someone else said, all arms and legs and either mildly chubby or stick-like thin.

My week has rushed by in a haze, I'm trying to get my brain back into the school game in time to finish off the semester. But been very airheaded lately. Lost an election for a student council executive position, but the guy who won deserves it and will do a good job. Oh well. Bought my first Very Red Dress and excited to wear it tonight. I've always wanted a red dress and an elemental-themed formal means I absolutely must go with fire.

    Good afternoon Whitechapel,

This one brought a great many things to mind, the most notable of which being that Mr Ellis has it spot on, growing up is a bastard.

My week has been work sleep work with the works getting longer and the sleeps shorter. Goodnight!
